Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: Vanguard Re-Review
Jan 30th
New MMORPG.com Reviewer Stephanie Morrow writes this long in the waiting re-review of SOE’s Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
It’s closing in on two years since Vanguard:SOH was released, and as most people probably remember it was an epic fail of a launch. There was unfinished content along with huge performance issues that ranged from graphic glitches to high system requirements. Very few good things were spoken about the game at the time. A lot can change in two years, especially when you have a team of dedicated developers working on it and a community that is willing to stand by no matter what happens.
Needless to say, Vanguard is not the game it once was at release. While it is certainly not perfect, countless issues have been addressed. Content has been added, bugs have been fixed. The community may have shrunk since the initial first few months, but the passion that everyone displays for ‘their’ game is astounding. Galleons and fishing have made their way into the game, something players have been clamoring about for quite some time now, as well as numerous other additions which I’ll get into more detail about further along.

Charging Forward with Age of Conan! – Hyborian Adventures

"Everybody" knows that MMO launches quickly followed by server merges are often the kiss of death. MMOs are expensive, after all. If a game has so few players that hardware is gathering dust, it makes sense in a for-profit company to pull the plug. The problem with things that "everybody knows," of course, is that they often turn out to be untrue. In at least two high-profile examples — Anarchy Online and EVE Online — bad starts followed by player defections were followed by retrenching, retooling and growing positive word-of-mouth that turned those products around. Those are the examples that Craig Morrison, the new Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures Game Director, is looking to now as he and his team continue to work on the barbarian-themed MMO, which debuted in May 2008…" –Gamespy

Runescape: Magic Interface Additions
Jan 27th
Continuing their year of the upgrade, the folks at Runescape have posted about a number of minor but helpful changes to the magic interface as well as a few other modifications.
Have you ever wanted to teleport to a location you haven’t been to for a while, only to find yourself looking through every icon to find the one you need? Our latest upgrade will put an end to this. The magic interface has a new feature that will enable you arrange your spells by category, and display either combat spells or teleport spells at the top of the interface. The default order will be the current, level-based one. This applies to all magic spell books.
The "you are here" button will now mark where you are on the world map, which you can open by clicking on the globe next to the minimap in the top-right-hand corner. This should make it easier for you to plan your journeys, as you’ll have a much clearer idea of your starting point.

Dofus: Iop Class Overview
Jan 27th
MMORPG.com Dofus Correspondent Christy Bazell writes this overview of the Iop class in the Ankama MMO.
So you want to be an Iop, be ready to eat a lot of bread. Iops are close combat fighters. They wield a sword like a super hero striking fear in both monsters and players. The most common Iop builds are strength, intelligence and agility. However a pure agility Iop is much harder to play since they have a limited spell arsenal.

Carta del Director de Juego #6 - Enero 2009 – Hyborian Adventures
Jan 23rd
