This week we cover the upcoming community announcement on the Advocates. For most, this is nothing too new but we do go into some concerns with the program and how we feel the Advocates will really benefit the feeback process as a whole. Additionally, we also hint to some upcoming entries for the future based on your own feedback from the entry last week.
"Since the announcement I have seen many people become excited about the program but I have also seen many concerns with the program failing. Those concerns are either with maintaining the program or the feedback process with the program itself. Addressing some of the concerns, I can see how many could view the program as something that will be hard to maintain as well hard to make succeed in improving feedback. However, maintaining such a program is not something new to us as we have done similar programs for years and years before as well had our ups and downs with it. Such experience will only help strengthen the program to really benefit everyone in the community with maintaining More >
EverQuest II: Producer’s Letter: Fighter Revamp Rework
Mar 19th
In a recent Producer’s Letter to the EverQuest II community, the folks at EQ2 say they will be rethinking the recent revamp to the fighter archetypes and they are looking for player input to help them determine how to proceed.
Recently we’ve been working on some changes to the fighter classes, particularly in the way that they manage hate. Our intent was to adjust these classes so that fighters would rely more on their taunts and abilities to gain and hold aggro and less on high DPS and hate buffs from DPS classes.
Why do we feel this is necessary?
Well, we’ve been talking since the last Fan Faire about how we’ve drifted away from the hate management and damage sink that tanks were originally intended to be. With this, there has also been an increase in the DPS that tanks have been doing while in combat. This begins to impinge on the role that we’ve envisioned for the Scout and Mage classes, and we feel that moving forward we need to make some adjustments, as it is increasingly difficult for us to do proper and cohesive game balancing as the lines get more blurred.
We introduced this to the test server in early More >

Lineage 2: A Look at the Economic State
Mar 18th
MMORPG.com Lineage II Correspondent Chris Sides writes this article discussing the state of the Lineage II economy and a couple of ideas on how to solve some problems with them.
We have all seen the extremely high prices for armor, weapons, materials, etc. What has caused this inflation in prices? To get ideas on how to solve this problem I went to the forums and asked people what they think. Some people are happy with the economy and some people are outraged at it. Along with their opinions and my own, I will give many ideas that may help the economic state of Lineage 2. I will also state some features NCsoft has implemented to try and help low-level players in getting gear and not being so impacted by the economy.

SOE has announced they are holding a contest as part of their 10 year anniversary celebrations for the EverQuest games. The contest calls on players to produce an image and brief write-up about why their character is one of "Norrath’s Timeless Heroes."
From Friday, March 13, 2009 (6:00 p.m., US Pacific Time) through Friday, April 10, 2009 at (11:59 p.m., US Pacific Time), Sony Online Entertainment will be hosting the “Norrath’s Timeless Heroes” contest.

Past and Present with Erling Ellingsen – Hyborian Adventures
Mar 16th
Gamesource talks about the past and present of Conan with the mighty Erling Ellingsen
<img

/>
Erling covers some key concerns and questions with some of the issues on launch, trials, PvP and much more!
"GS: Before May 2008 AoC had one of the higher hype in MMO history, so whats the biggest mistake you have made that absolutely you wouldnt commit again at launch?
EE: Thats a good question but its hard to name just one thing we would like to do differently. I think many of the design decisions we made could have been done differently, while others worked very well. One of the things we have realized did not work out so well was the way items are handled in the game, their importance for character advancement and what impact they have on your statistics. We believe that this system should have been better and that it would have made the game last longer for many players. So in the next update we are actually launching a revamped item system that makes items matter more and have a much more clearly defined impact on your character…" –Featured on Gamesource.it
