Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures: Blog: Developments on the Horizon
Jul 31st
The good people at Funcom have updated their Official MMORPG.com blog, this time with an entry that goes over what’s in store from AoC in the immediate future.
The past few weeks have been very interesting for us on the community and development teams. We’ve both launched one of our biggest updates to date along with our reevaluation campaign. I’ve personally been swamped with all of this including preparations for our annual Dragon*Con convention that will surely kick some major ass this year.
On to the good stuff!
Our Game Director Craig ‘Silirrion’ Morrison has just popped out his monthly production letter to the community. This month’s letter covers the next focus that will include guild system changes. I won’t go into too much detail here to summarize it introduces a new Guild Renown system. This will bring in some interesting game play aspects for guilds like Renown points based on guildy actions in-game, Renown levels that utilize those points as sort of a guild level for your character and Renown rankings that basically combines all the above into a guild rank for more competitive elements. Along with that, the letter also mentioned some significant additions like new zones in the form of More >
Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures: Siege Basics
Jul 31st
MMORPG.com Age of Conan Correspondent Garrett Perkins writes this guide to the siege system for first-time players of Funcom’s "M" rated MMO.
The border kingdoms of Hyboria are where the best of the best duke it out in an epic battle of wits and strength to find out who has the right to rule over one of the few battle keeps that are available on each server. Siege is the apex of PvP in Age of Conan in which there is a defending and attacking guild fighting during a set time frame (set by the defending guild) over a battle keep. These battle keeps offer up extreme PvP and PvE stat bonuses along with the bragging rights that come with owning one of the selective structures. This makes the battles to claim and defend those keeps extremely brutal, and sometimes even personal. Knowledge can always change the tide of battle, so I put up this little guide on the basics of how Sieges work in AoC so that rookie warriors won’t be caught clueless on this merciless battlefield.
Getting a BK / applying for siege:
First off before you can even try and apply to siege your guild must:

Eberron Unlimited Pushed Back to September
Jul 31st
Fans waiting for the release of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited next week will have to hold their breath a little longer.
Turbine has just announced a revised release date of September 9, 2009.
"While we are very pleased with the performance of the game and are excited about the response from the players, we are committed to delivering a high-quality experience. We feel that more time is needed to deliver on this commitment. As a result, we are delaying our launch to ensure that we can support the massive increase in players that we are expecting and deliver them a free to play experience like none other."
While this may be true, it’s always a little disappointing to see something anticipated move just out of reach.
The full announcement is on the official site.
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: July Newsletter Reveals Wild Hunt Event
Jul 30th
The July Newsletter for Warhammer Online is out; and in it are a number of announcements. These announcements include the earlier reported upcoming Fall release of the WAR Mac client, and finally, full details on the Wild Hunt event, which is to debut later in the summer.
The Wild Hunt event is centered around the Elven tradition to honor the Elven god of the Hunt, Kurnuos, through a sacred hunt. The event will be introduced using a Open RvR public quest, similar to past events. These open RvR PQs will exist only in the High Elf lands, and will be available across all tiers.
In the first stage, players will have to set traps for members of the Wild Hunt that will arrive in the second stage to come after you.
In the second stage, players will have to tackle three hero Master Hunters, while also dealing with the threat of enemy players who are also seeking to do the same. While the chaos ensues, the Spirit of Kurnuos will roam throughout the area, and should he come upon you, he may afflict you with a curse. Once cursed, players will have to pass the curse onto an enemy player, or even an allied player More >

City of Heroes: Going Rogue to Bring Graphics Upgrade?
Jul 29th
Face it, City of Heroes/Villains is growing long in the tooth when it comes to the game’s visuals and it is long overdue for a graphics upgrade.
Is one such uograde coming with the Going Rogue expansion? This latest interview on Issue 16: Power Spectrum and the Going Rogue expansion over at TenTonHammer seems to hint at it:
Ten Ton Hammer: Will the graphics be revamped?
Matt: I can’t officially say anything… but I’m not saying no.
Make of that what you will.

City of Heroes: Issue 16 Comic Con Interview
Jul 29th
While at Comic Con, MMORPG.com’s Carolyn Koh caught with with Matt Miller and Joe Morrisey of Paragon Studios to talk about the upcoming Issue 16 update to City of Heroes.
Joe Morrissey, Senior Game Designer and Matt Miller, Senior Design Lead at Paragon Studios are just great people to talk to and we joked around as they waited for a "Marketing Watchdog" to come by before we could start the interview at Comic Con. "Just a mindful presence to keep me from saying too much," Joe quipped. 23
"Shhh! Don’t tell her about the Ninja Space Monkeys?" Matt hushed him. "Are you sure they weren’t Pirate Space Monkeys?" Joe responded "The space expansion? What space expansion?" They chorused, deadpan.
Build 16, which goes into open beta in two weeks, is a response to player requests and primarily consists of the Power Spectrum, which is the ability to customize the colors of your character’s powers. A new interface has been created with tabs across the top so that players creating new or tailoring old characters can easily switch from the different customization screens to adjust each of the customizable features of their characters.
