"MMORPG.com: How was 1.5 received by the game’s community when it finally launched?
Craig Morrison: I think it has gone very well all things considered. Most players seem to appreciate the new build of the items and that they can now easily see how the items tie into their character. Likewise I think the new content has been very well received ad people are really enjoying the experience in Tarantia Commons, and the guild changes have also been welcomed.
Of course there are some things that need to be addressed, as we knew there would be, and, as we knew it would be, it is in the class balance area that most of the feedback lies…and of course in that area the feedback is never anything short of vocal!
We had always known, and been quite upfront with the community in advance, that there would be some things we had to address after the update was released to the live environment. Changing your Faction in World of Warcraft

“We wanted to give everyone a very early heads-up that, in response to player requests, we’re developing a new service for World of Warcraft that will allow players to change their faction from Alliance to Horde or Horde to Alliance. There’s still much work to do and many details to iron out, but the basic idea is that players will be able to use the service to transform an existing character into a roughly equivalent character of the opposing faction on the same realm. Players who ended up creating and leveling up characters on the opposite factions from their friends have been asking for this type of functionality for some time, and we’re pleased to be getting closer to being able to deliver it.
As with all of the features and services we offer, we intend to incorporate the faction-change service in a way that won’t disrupt the gameplay experience on the realms, and there will be some rules involved with when and how the service can be used. Das große Update 5 – Diebesviertel von Tarantia ist gelandet, wir schwitzen vor dem PC und bringen euch kein bisschen leise die Neuigkeiten und Antworten, nach denen es euch verlangt!
Mit Update 5 wurde Age of Conan wahrhaft auf Version 1.5 angehoben und viele von euch werden ihre Erfahrungen wie den Beginn eines neuen Spiels beschreiben. Der CROMCAST geht diese Woche auf die Neuigkeiten ein, wir haben einen Entwickler zu Gast, nämlich Markus ’Zangrief’ Schnell, einen deutschen Environment Artist von Funcom, der uns ein wenig über geheime Verstecke in den Landschaften erzählt und werden euch hoffentlich auch mit unserem Gesabbel und unseren Antworten reichlich und gehaltvoll versorgen können.

Dofus: ANKAMA to Introduce Dofus 2.0

ANKAMA will be hosting the Dofus stand at the European convention of Games Com.
Dofus 2.0 will be unveiled at the Games Com convention, which takes place from August 19th to August 23rd in Cologne, Germany.

Roubaix, France – July 1st 2009 – ANKAMA announces it will host a stand at the biggest European video games convention from August 19th to 23rd in Cologne, Germany.
More than 200,000 visitors are expected at the Games Com in Cologne, where ANKAMA will introduce DOFUS 2.0, the new version of its famous MMORPG. Located in Hall6/booth B40, the 200 m² stand will be dedicated to ANKAMA’s universe, providing visitors with an exclusive experience of ANKAMA’s latest game.
Since its official release in September 2004, DOFUS (www.dofus.com) has experienced exponential growth. Now available in7 languages including French, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Italian, the game has gathered over 20 million players worldwide.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: Game Update – It’s Been a Long Road

MMORPG.com’s Carolyn Koh recently traveled to Sony Online Entertainment’s Fan Faire. While there, she spoke with Vnaguard Lead Designer and Acting Producer Salim Grant about the current state of the game.
At the recent SOE FanFaire in Las Vegas, I made a point to speak with Salim Grant, the Lead Designer and Acting Producer of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes to get an update on the game. He spoke with passion and enthusiasm, if not a little fatigue.
"We’ve worked hard. Very hard in the past two years," he said, "to make Vanguard what it should have been at launch. Finally, we are at a point where we are deciding what to do next instead of asking what we needed to fix next."

Age of Conan director Craig Morrison gave The MMO Gamer an update on the games latest update.

The MMO Gamer: Based on our previous conversation, I guess my first question is: What changes have been made to the game in this latest patch which embody the philosophy of fun over tedium?
Craig Morrison: We started the process with the previous updates that introduced content like Ymirs Pass and Xibuluku, and I think the content in this update does continue the progress on that front we started with those updates. I think the experience in Tarantia Commons is a fun one, there are some great moments to be had in the area, from the ever evolving civil unrest that dynamically generates based on players interactions (or goes ahead on its own if they choose to stay out of it!), to the roof-top game-play that adds another element to an urban environment (in particular on a PVP server!) through to things like the boss encounters in the Crows Nest group instance that players seem to be reacting really well to!
