Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Experience Tier 1 For Free, Forever!

Nestled away in the overview of of Version 1.3.2 "Path of Conquest" in this month’s WAR newsletter are details of some pretty significant changes coming to Warhammer Online.
This month’s newsletter reveals that the currently available 10 day free trial will soon be free of any time restrictions, meaning that players can essentially play the game free of charge as long as they remain in Tier 1. This sounds awfully similar to the "Freemium" model that the Chronicles of Spellborn had been utilizing not long ago.
There aren’t currently any details on whether or not any additional restrictions would be applied, though it would probably be safe to assume that any restrictions (such as being limited to Tier 1) that are currently part of the 10 day trial would remain.

Star Trek Online: The Future Past: Part 2

The lore video series continues over at GameSpot with the release of The Future Past: Part 2. The video starts out catching up viewers with the events highlighted in part one, and then fills in the rest of the gaps that lead to the war between the Federation and the Klingon in the year 2409, which is when Star Trek Online will take place.
It has also been revealed that the Klingon, Gorn, Nausicaan, and Orion races will all be part of the Klingon faction.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Friday Update: Jedi Knight Unveiled!

As we reported earlier this week, we kind of knew this one was coming. But while this news may not be surprising for many of us, the Jedi Knight has been officially revealed today as this week’s Friday Update. The Jedi Knight reads as kind of the counterpart of the Sith Warrior, as both classes seem to have a melee (lightsaber) bent.
The Jedi Knight is described below:

EVE Online: There’s An App For That

MMORPG.com EVE Online Correspondent Kevin Schram writes this look at four different fan made applications that make the EVE Online experience that much easier.
Unlike that other MMO, EVE Online does not allow modification of the game’s client for user-made mods. To fill this void, the EVE Online community (which is filled with IT professionals – just ask around in your corp) has created a ton of fan made applications. De nombreuses initiatives ont été lancées au cours des dernières semaines, aussi m’a-t-il semblé utile de vous détailler tous ces nouveaux programmes et ce qu’ils ont à vous offrir.

Global Agenda Unveils New Gameplay at Eurogamer Expo

LONDON, Oct. 30, 2009 – Attendees at the Eurogamer Expo in Leeds and London this week were among the first to experience Global Agenda’s player-vs-environment (PvE) content, participating in four-person co-op missions that pit teams of elite special agents against the Commonwealth, an oppressive one-world government of the 22nd Century.
"After showing off our award-winning player-vs-player content during the Global Agenda Tour at venues across North America, we are excited to unveil player-vs-environment content in the UK at the Eurogamer Expo," said Todd Harris, Executive Producer of Global Agenda. "We are working hard to craft a PvE system that maintains the same high replayability and addictive gameplay as our player-vs-player gameplay. And our beta testers and early Eurogamer participants have reinforced that this will be a fun and important part of the game."
Gamers that play Global Agenda may earn experience points, in-game credits, achievements, upgrades and loot through either player-vs-player (PvP) or player-vs-environment (PvE) missions. Reinforcing the game’s team-based gameplay, PvE missions feature teams of four player agents infiltrating Commonwealth facilities and working cooperatively to defeat an end boss.

MMORPG.com’s Jon Wood recently asked a few questions of DDO’s Design Director Ian Currie about the recently launched Update One and the changes that it brought to the game.
MMORPG.com: Update One introduces a new high level adventure pack. Can you tell us a little bit about what players can expect from it, and is this something that players will have to buy separately through the DDO Store, or does it come for free?
Ian Currie: The new adventure pack is called The Path of Inspiration. It’s free to VIP players but also available via the DDO Store to everyone levels 16 and up. It contains 5 adventures and has a storyline unlike anything we’ve done before. Players will get to experience some unique gameplay in this adventure pack, including having to guard their ’will’ from a creature that would steal it, and entering the dreams of a well known character wherein they’ll fight some nifty creatures from the plane of nightmares. Some very rewarding loot awaits them at the end of the last quest where they’ll also learn that the job of an adventurer is never quite finished.
