[Interview] Section 8 Maybe a Console MMO
Oct 29th
Recently we got a chance to face the developer of Section 8. We talk about the story behind the combat both in MMO version and Single Version. When talk about the aim of Section 8’s development, they told us that Section 8 was born for shaking-up the norm of typical FPS game.
We took a critical look at the other shooters on the market and tried to expand upon what we liked about them and eliminate what we did not like while we were developing Section 8.
Will Section 8 MMO Version appear in other platforms such as PS3/Xbox360? Maybe. If players have a will, that will come ture in near future. That is, Timegate also have a plan. So everything depends on fans’ choice.
…so we definitely hope to revisit the universe sometime in the near future. The Interview:
Your team has recently released a video related to the storyline of Section 8. And I’m really impressed by the words featured at the end of the video. That is, “we are the first to jump, we are the first to fight, we are the first to die, we are Section 8”. But the only thing depressing me is that the story told in More >

In-Depth Q&A on Global Agenda Pricing Model
Oct 29th
Following up on last week’s Global Agenda pricing announcement, the editors at TenTonHammer have published an in-depth Q&A with Executive Producer Todd Harris that provides in-depth information on the new pricing model, as well as more information on the Global Agenda: Conquest gameplay.
Read the full article at: http://www.tentonhammer.com/node/75772
Here are excerpts:
Ten Ton Hammer: The pricing options really seem like an interesting way to offer subscription-phobic gamers more than just a window into the game, but a complete standalone game that works hand-in-hand with the MMO portion of the game. Do you view the pricing options as a way to layer in or introduce the game to an unfamiliar audience? What makes the non-Conquest experience of Global Agenda different from what some gamers might be used to with a typical lobby-and-instance online shooter? Todd Harris: Whether or not you view it as layering in the MMO experience – we’ve always thought of the game as an MMO from the beginning, and always thought of the AvA [Alliance vs. Alliance campaign game] as a big draw- I think about it more as carving out the really fun multiplayer gameplay and making that available in the core single-purchase package.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Nate Levy Explains Major AP Bug Fix
Oct 29th
AP regen rates were altered significantly with the launch of Patch 1.3.1 due to a complex bug, which resulted in players essentially having infinite AP.
In the recently released Patch 1.3.2 this bug has been fixed, and AP rates have returned to normal levels. But with players so used to being able to just spam their attacks, there have been some concerns raised by the community over the change, and WAR’s Combat & Careers Team Lead Nate Levy addresses them in this latest dev diary published on the WAR Herald.
Nate on the nasty bug:
What were the bugs that we fixed, and how did they affect game-play?
Nate: Since 1.3.1 went live, we discovered two major bugs relating to Action Point regeneration. The first was causing Action Points to regenerate during the Global Cooldown in certain situations, but unfortunately, it was very difficult to detect because the second issue masked the first. This second issue was a bug which caused server performance and load to drastically impact AP regeneration rates—so, while Action Points would sometimes be regenerating when they weren’t supposed to, the AP-regen rates were also slower all-around, especially in high-stress situations such as Keep captures. The combination of these two factors essentially resulted More >

World of Warcraft: Evolving Guild Dynamics
Oct 29th
MMORPG.com World of Warcraft Correspondent Krsiti Studts writes this look at the way that World of Warcraft guilds are starting to evolve beyond just the raiding guilds that have become dominant over the last few years.
Over the last few weeks I’ve noticed something I haven’t seen in a couple of years in World of Warcraft. In the Trade channel, there’s been a lot of advertising for new guilds. Not that advertising for guilds is new. What was unique to these Trade blasts was the type of guilds looking for new members.
A wave of social guilds surging on many of the normal and RP servers is a surprising turn.
Guild relations are an intriguing dynamic. Looking for members, you are never quite certain what to focus on. Is a website that important in the grand scheme of things? Should all guilds be required to have vent? Maybe the focus needs to be on what makes up the guild – the players.
