Aion: What Will You Be? Class Play Styles
Oct 5th
Having trouble deciding who you will be in Aion? Let us help you. Robert Duckworth runs through the classes and gives you some insights into what you can expect from each.
Templars are the best tanks in the game. If you decide to play a Templar then you will be tanking things at some point, there is not much of an option when you are the best there is. A Templar cannot pull off the same damage as the DPS classes, but they can hold their own and so should not be left out of a group if there is already a Templar in it. They have the standard tanking abilities for an MMO that uses a threat system: Taunts, a lot of attacks that deal increased threat, and passive abilities that increase threat from damage. My personal favorite tanking/CC ability though is one called Divine Grasp: your target and all enemies within 20 yards of your target are dragged towards you with spirit like ropes. If you play WoW, it is the same as a Death Knights’ Death Grip, except it grabs everyone instead of just one person. When wishing to deal damage they will equip a two handed sword, More >
King of Fighters 2010 Live Action Movie
Oct 4th
Right after the much critically despised Dragon Ball Evolution movie, here comes the King of Fighters movie. What were they thinking?
Kyo, Mai, Terry and some of the fighters are transported into another dimension in a fight to save the universe.
Wait, Mortal Kombat already did that, talk about unoriginality. To be honest, the film looks like a low budget p0rn movie without the f*cking. If it were, I would totally watch it. Seriously, it seems that nobody behind the movies have any idea about the King of Fighters mythos. It’s not just a video game, there’s myth and story behind the characters. At the end of the day, the producers would scratch their heads wondering why the movie flopped and how they are going to get back their lost investment.
Lets start off with the cast of characters. Obviously they don’t look anything like the characters they play. Plus, there’s no hotties so the movie is totally bound to FAIL.
Kyo KusanagiSince the producers obviously hates to gamble with an asian male lead so they had to pick an american actor Sean Faris instead. The poor guy looks very much displaced in streets of Hong kong. I wonder how will Kyo’s mom explain More >

World of Warcraft: Guide: Trial of the Crusader, Part II
Oct 2nd
In the second guide, James Wood runs through with a guide to Lord Jaraxxus and the Faction Champions. For part one, click here.
Two Tanks are needed for this fight, one for Jaraxxus and one for the adds that will spawn later. The main tank will kite Jaraxxus clockwise or counter-clockwise around the ring. You’ll get the reason later. The off-tank gets to deal with the Mistresses of Pain and Felflame Infernals.
Healers will need to watch for players who get hit with the Incinerate Flesh debuff. The player who gets it has 12 seconds to receive 30,000 or 60,000 points of healing, depending on the difficulty, to remove the debuff. If they don’t get healed, they explode into a Burning Inferno, dealing raid-wide fire damage every second for five seconds.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Story of the Sith Warrior
Oct 2nd
This week’s Friday Update is a Developer Blog entitled "The Story of the Sith Warrior". As you might imagine, we learn about what went into the process of writing the story for the Sith Warrior class.
Star Wars: The Old Republic writer Neil Pollner describes the Sith Warrior’s story:
You begin the Sith Warrior story as the apprentice of one of the most powerful Sith Lords in the Empire. Yes, you serve him, as Vader served the Emperor, but he knows that you are at your best and most powerful the more you can flex your muscles. As long as your master’s ultimate directives are met, you are encouraged to entertain your every impulse and do as you please.
Unbound and unleashed on the galaxy, you wage war against the Jedi, relentlessly hunting and neutralizing their most powerful and important players. You can leave an indelible darkness on every planet you visit or find less wanton routes to your goals, as you eliminate rivals, acquire your own minions and build your personal power base.
The enemies of the Sith quickly realize that you are the real threat that cannot be ignored. Other Sith you encounter and confront come to revere and revile you, as much More >
World of Warcraft: Warcraft Film Details, Release Date
Oct 2nd
A number of new details on the Warcraft film have surfaced over at IMDB. Two major details about the film have surfaced, one, the film’s release date, which is targeted for 2011. The other, the film’s name, which will be "Warcraft: The Rise of the Lich King".
All the above information still remains unofficial as there haven’t been any official announcements yet, but Medievaldragon at WorldofWar.net makes a pretty good case for the film’s name:
The film is approximately slated for 2011 according to IMDB. This title gives us an idea that the film will be somehow based on some of the scenes of World of Warcraft: Rise of the Lich King novel by Christie Golden, which contains heavy references to scenes from Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. A film based on Arthas as a main figure is definitely attractive to the audience, either to fans or to viewers new to the fantasy storyline. The life of Arthas is one saturated of tragic things that led him to take different type of choices. Some that drove him to the brink of insanity, shredding away the last vestiges of his humanity, taking an oath to give up More >
Dofus: Guide: Miner Tips and Etiquette
Oct 2nd
The life of a miner is explored by Dofus correspondent Cindy George in this guide.
Neurotic Dofus player rejoice, there is hope for you yet. I have discovered a profession completely geared towards players who have a deep seated root of repetitive behavior, and it is a desirable profession. Mining. Yes you read right. Mining.
Think being in a dark cave picking at rocks sounds like a bore? Well far be it from the truth. I have found mining to be rewarding and extremely profitable.

Aion: Newbies Silenced to Combat Gold Spammers
Oct 2nd
A recent patch to Aion implemented a crude but temporary fix to address the rampant gold spam taking place in Aion: The Tower of Eternity. The patch disallows characters under level five from sending whispers, similar to general chat which also maintains this restriction.
Having never played Aion, roughly how long does it take to hit level five? Do you think this change will make an impact on gold spam? Or will it simply serve to annoy legitimate players? Let us know in the comments!
Social Networking is Full of Win
Oct 2nd
As Hero-Con is mere weeks away, NCsoft and Paragon Studios are giving away Costume Codes to players from previous Special Event Costume Events.
If that’s not confusing, then basically it’s like this: follow City of Heroes on Twitter and Facebook, they’ll randomly post a code, be the first to enter it into your account and you could win something like the PAX 2009 Carnival of Shadows costume.
Keep your fingers twitchy, sounds like these things are going to go fast.
You can read about it officially at the official site of officialness.
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Evidence of Microtransactions in ToS?
Oct 1st
Some of the gumshoes in the Star Wars: The Old Republic community have dug up some interesting language in the Terms of Service agreement included with the application of the recently announced Game Testing program. The language present in the agreement may allude to the existence of an in-game shop aka microtransactions in The Old Republic.
Sections H-K of the Game Testing Terms & Conditions are the particularly curious sections of the agreement, making mention of "points" and a "Game store".
A screen cap of the aforementioned section of the agreement can be viewed below:
Section H states that "all points acquired during the Game program are non-refundable and have no monetary value".
In Section K, you’ll find the agreement pretty explicitly mentions a "Game store".
Of course, BioWare has not officially announced anything along these lines, so while this evidence is certainly convincing it is by no means a direct confirmation that The Old Republic will indeed make use of microtransactions.
