Aion: Looking at the Chanter
Oct 29th
MMORPG.com Aion Correspondent Joshua Price writes this look at the Chanter class in NCsoft’s newest MMORPG.
As you no doubt already know if you’ve been at least following Aion a little bit, the MMORPG uses a more traditional class system as opposed to a more dynamic method of determining your role.
When you start, you can pick between four basic, archetypical classes: the Scout, the Warrior, the Mage, and the Priest. Upon reaching level nine and completing a mandatory quest that will be automatically given to you, each of those classes will have the option to go one of two paths. The class of interest today is the Chanter, a Priest who’d rather get in the thick of things as opposed to watching the combat from afar.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited: Review
Oct 29th
MMORPG.com’s Jamie Skelton reviews Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, Turbine’s Free to Play MMO based on the popular pen and paper franchise.
When I mentioned that I was playing Dungeons and Dragons Online, several of my friends expressed disdain. Sure, it may be free now, but they’d played it in the original beta and it sucked – and they just couldn’t be convinced that it could have gotten any better. Meanwhile, it was hard for me to wrap my mind around the massive number of changes the game had gone through. Over time, it has changed from a game that I had once found nearly unplayable, to one I could barely tear myself away from. There’s a lot of controversy about a game that suddenly went free to play, and has been sucking in players since. But since subscription rates are up 40% since the subscription model change, Dungeons and Dragons Online is definitely getting something right.

MMORPG.com:
Tell us how the Guest Author Program has been working?
Joe "Hero 1" Morrissey:
It’s been going very well! It was an absolute blast working together with Bill Willingham, Scott Kurtz, and the guys over at Rooster Teeth to deliver these new Architect arcs to the players. So far their arcs have been well received by players and we’re confident that players will be happy with what we have planned for the future with this program.
