Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: 1.3.2 Interview

MMORPG.com’s Jon Wood recently had a chance to ask Warhammer’s Jeff Skalski a few questions about the recent 1.3.2 update and what it means for the game.
MMORPG.com:
Are you at all concerned that the new Apprentice System is going to prevent many people from enjoying the full scope of content available to them and simply spend their time apprenticed to a max level character?
Jeff Skalski:
Not at all. The way I look at is, why should a player who’s paying for our service be restricted to play with whomever he or she wants to because they are not within the "right" range of ranks to enjoy the content? I’m happy we got apprenticing up in for 1.3.2 and we’re working through the bugs we encountered on PTS a few weeks ago for apprenticing down right now. The team is trying to get those kinks worked out for 1.3.3, so hopefully all T2-T4 players can enjoy the new low level dungeon Hunter Vale with their higher ranked characters

Die Blätter fallen und die Preise purzeln!
Wir freuen uns euch mitteilen zu können, dass wir die Preise für unsere längerfristigen Abos gesenkt haben. Ab sofort wird das drei-monatige Abo einen Preisnachlass von 20%, das sechs-monatige Abo einen Nachlass von 30% und das zwölf-monatige Abo einen Nachlass von 45% im Vergleich zum ein-monatigen Abo bieten. Der Nachlass ist also mehr als zweimal so hoch wie zuvor.
Außerdem ist es jetzt möglich mit der zusätzlichen Spielzeit direkt Veteranenpunkte zu bekommen. Mit der Einführung des Veteranen-Punkte-Systems werden Spieler für jeden Monat, den sie abonnieren mit Punkten belohnt, die sie für diverse Gegenstände einlösen können. Veteranen-Punkte werden mit dem kommenden Update aktiv und werden rückwirkend für alle Monate verteilt, die ihr abonniert hattet.

World of Warcraft: Quick Leveling Tips (Horde)

MMORPG.com World of Warcraft Correspondent Sean Cooper writes these tips for quick leveling from a Horde perspective in Blizzard’s massively popular MMO.
Leveling in WoW remains one of the better parts of the game when compared to MMORPGs of the past; while the "grind" of gaining experience to gain the next level remains present, it’s far less painful than even the early days of the game. With multiple experience buffs throughout its shelf life along with new account bound items and Recruit-a-Friend bonuses, leveling characters from 1 to 80 has never been easier.
As an alt-a-holic, I’ve gathered a few tips that some players may not already be aware exist. I’ve written this guide so that anyone who wants to level from 1-80 in the fastest manner possible can do so. With that said, this guide is NOT for new players, but rather experienced players, and for the first 25 levels is very Horde-specific. It also can become tedious, but is the fastest way to level. There’s a lot of pre-mount travel involved so any mount that can move multiple characters will be handy, as will summons. Summoning stones will be useless if not of the warlock variety.

MMORPG.com Aion Correspondent Josh Price writes this look at the Fire Temple dungeon in NCsoft’s newest release, Aion.
As you and your Asmodian wings approach the level 30 milestone, a new quest will pop up in your journal: [Group] The Three Keys. This little gem, once completed, will grant you access to the Fire Temple. This instance, in western Mt. Musphel near the Sky Temple of Arkanis, is sort of misleadingly named, as it has more in common with a hole in the ground (commonly referred to as cave) than it does with a temple. Although, there are some ruins strewn about the place which would lead one to believe it may at some point in its history been a temple. Now, though, it is home to fiery fire elementals, rocky rock elementals, gargy gargoyles, and one sexy lady by the name of Kromede.

FF13 Japanese Promotional Drink Coming

The latest promotional drink for Final Fantasy 13 is about to hit Japan. In the past Square Enix has partnered with beverage company Suntory to release drinks centered around other properties. The FF13 version will be coming in two flavors (pardon the pun) the collectable cans only and one partnered with a collectable figure.
No pricing for either beverage was revealed but they will be released in early December. If only they could release it over on this side of the pacific.

Dragonica Celebrates Halloween with a Spooky Makeover

Dragonica, the free arcade-style 3D side-scrolling MMORPG from the gPotato.eu games portal, is getting a spooky makeover as the gPotato team are proud to announce Halloween in Dragotaka.

Between October 22nd and November 5th, a simple automatic patch gives players logging into Dragonica a treat! For these two weeks, all the major towns including Odellia, Port of the Winds, Libra, Fungoid Village, Ellora Camp and Ash Mist Village have had a spooky Halloween makeover!

A brand new quest NPC called Randy has also been added into the game. He’s had some Halloween trouble and needs your help, and in return for assisting him with the new quest chain, players can earn a great Halloween themed weapon for their characters!

Star Trek Online: Beta Begins Today!

Atari and Cryptic Studios have announced today that the Closed Beta test for Star Trek Online has commenced!
Craig Zinkievich, Executive Producer of Star Trek Online, offers some comments on today’s announcement:
"We’re pleased to begin sharing our addition to Star Trek’s legendary story with the public, we know fans of Star Trek, and fans of MMOs, will be incredibly impressed by what they see when they play Star Trek Online."
From what I understand lifetime and six month subscribers to Champions Online should be first into the Star Trek Online beta, so start checking your inboxes!
