DOFUS 1.29 + DOFUS 2.0
Zunächst einmal willkommen auf der neuen Community-Webseite von DOFUS!
Wie im Titel dieser News erwähnt, haben wir eine sehr wichtige Nachricht für euch!
Es war vorgesehen, dass DOFUS 2.0 am 2. Dezember schlicht und einfach die gegenwärtige Version von DOFUS ersetzt.
Wir sind jedoch der Ansicht, dass die Version 2.0 noch nicht überzeugend genug ist, und dass es noch zu früh wäre für einen vollständigen Transfer der Communities von DOFUS auf DOFUS 2.0.
Wir haben daher beschlossen, allen Spielern die Möglichkeit zu geben, weiterhin die Version 1.29 zu spielen und starten parallel dazu 2.0.
Wie wird das konkret aussehen? Wir werden DOFUS 2.0 am 2. Dezember starten, wie vorgesehen… allerdings nur mit neuen Servern, die eine Besonderheit haben werden: zwei Wochen lang « doppelte Erfahrungspunkte und Drops ».
Ihr werdet daher mit einem Account die Möglichkeit haben, sowohl DOFUS 1.29 als auch DOFUS 2.0 zu spielen.
Und wie geht es weiter?
Macht euch keine Sorgen! Die Arbeit an dem Spiel DOFUS 2.0 geht weiter und die Performance des Spiels wird jeden Tag verbessert. Das gesamte Team leistet eine überwältigende Arbeit, damit diese neue Version ein voller Erfolg wird. Wir unternehmen, was wir nur können, um dieses Ziel zu erreichen!

WoW Moviewatch: Born to be Wild Turkeys!

We sadly missed this movie until today. However, Dakgorim’s fantastic video Born to be Wild Turkeys is a welcome send-off for the Thanksgiving holiday, and the Pilgrim’s Bounty game event. Featuring one of Steppenwolf’s best known songs, and what seems like a half dozen turkeys going completely wild, this video is going to be a fun one to revisit in years to come.
Born to be Wild Turkeys strikes me as a movie that not only should have been made, but it absolutely had to be made the second Pilgrim’s Bounty hit the servers. The combination of motorcycles, turkeys, and roundabout bourbon references is a match made in heaven.
Here’s hoping everyone had a pleasant feasting time, and that we’re all now a few pounds heavier.

On savait l’Australie tatillonne en matière de classification des jeux. Elle récidive et interdit la vente de CrimeCraft sur son territoire. Le MMOTPS ferait l’apologie des drogues.
Les autorités australiennes se montrent particulièrement vigilantes en matière de classification de jeux vidéo et promptes à interdire les titres qu’elles jugent malvenus sur son territoire (on s’en souvient, il y a quelques mois, les mêmes autorités avaient également envisagé la censure de World of Warcraft en Australie). Selon GameSpot, aujourd’hui, le MMO CrimeCraft rejoindrait Necrovision (un jeu de tirs) et Sexy Poker (sans trop s’avancer, on imagine un jeu de cartes sexy) parmi les jeux vidéo interdits à la vente sur le territoire australien.
Pour mémoire, CrimeCraft est un MMO de tirs à la troisième personne qui plonge le joueur dans un univers où la pègre règne en maître et dans lequel il devra faire prospérer un business peu honnête… Dans ce contexte, le bureau australien de classification des jeux apprécierait manifestement peu la présence de « boost » dans le jeu, une drogue améliorant les performances des personnages lors des affrontements. Brief des Game Directors November 2009
Der Brief des Game Directors für den November ist veröffentlicht. Craig gibt euch einen Einblick in seine Erlebnisse in Busan (Korea) und was uns in Zukunft in Age of Conan erwartet.
Postkarten aus BusanDie Show in Busan verlief sehr gut. Unsere Partner von Neowiz haben gute Arbeit mit der Präsentation des Spiels geleistet. Der Messestand war sehr gut ausgearbeitet und sie haben eine tolle Show für die koreanischen Spieler abgehalten. Es war ein gutes Gefühl den Leuten dabei zuzusehen, wie viel Spaß sie mit der lokalisierten Version hatten und sich in Age of Conan selber zurecht fanden.
Onlinespiele sind viel stärker etabliert und die Wahlmöglichkeiten der in Korea erhältlichen Spiele ist umfangreicher. Es ist ein sehr stark umkämpfter Markt und es wird interessant sein zu sehen, ob wir in diesem Marktumfeld einen Platz für unser Spiel finden können. Es ist in jedem Fall eine große, aber auch reizvolle, Herausforderung. Wir machen Spiele, damit sie von Leuten gespielt werden und Besuche, wie der diese Woche, bestätigen mir, dass es hier wirklich einen großen Bedarf für gute Onlinespiele gibt!

Around Azeroth: Lift over leftovers

It’s the week after Thanksgiving, and Hornwood of <Collective Conscious> on Zul’jin is still working on cleaning out his leftovers. No matter how much beef he eats, there always seems to be more on the table the next day. Maybe holding Thanksgiving dinner underneath Thunder Bluff this year wasn’t such a good idea. Hopefully, next year’s bash beneath the Aldor lift in Shattrath City would go better.

Lagenda de ce mois-ci a été assez dense, entre le travail sur la prochaine grosse mise à jour et celui sur lextension, tout en y glissant un voyage en Corée pour participer au salon GStar de Busan. Ce qui fait que jai dû préparer ce texte en plein déplacement : écrire quelque chose de cohérent dans une salle dattente daéroport tient un peu du défi, mais il nétait pas question de manquer ce rendez-vous mensuel !
Cartes postales de BusanLe salon de Busan sest très bien passé. Nos partenaires de chez Neowiz on fait un fantastique boulot de présentation du jeu. Le stand était vraiment bien conçu et les joueurs coréens ont eu droit à du grand spectacle. Cétait super de les voir découvrir la version localisée et se faire une idée dAge of Conan par eux-mêmes.
En Corée, le jeu en ligne est bien établi et les joueurs ont une offre de titres plus importante. Cest donc un marché très compétitif, et il sera vraiment intéressant de voir quelle percée notre jeu peut y faire. Cest bien évidemment un défi de taille, mais ô combien motivant ! Letter from the Game Director – November 2009
This month has been a bit hectic with work on the next major update alongside the work on the expansion and managing to wedge in a trip to Korea for the GStar even in Busan. This has meant that it was a little bit of a rush for me between all the travelling to prepare this text.
Trying to write a coherent text from airport lounges is always a little challenging! I didnt want to miss the month though!
Postcards from BusanThe show in Busan went very well. Our partners at Neowiz did an amazing job of presenting the game. The show-floor booth was very well put together and they put on a wonderful show for the Korean players. It was great to see people enjoying the localized version and getting to grips with Age of Conan for themselves.
Online gaming is more established and the number of choices of available titles for the Korean gamers is wider. It is a very competitive market and it will be really interesting to see if we can make some inroads into that market with our own game. It’s definitely a daunting challenge, but More >
