Atlantica: Child’s Play Withdrawal from Fund-Raising Event
Dec 30th
nDoors Interactive recently announced a Child’s Play Withdrawal from Fund-Raising event whereby a limited random box that contains some of the rarest items in the item mall and Atlantica is priced 3999 Gcoins. nDoors explained that the price is set according the box’s innate value and potential to offer some of the rarest items in the game. At the same time, because of the holiday season and the spirit of giving, they decided to donate 5% of gross revenue generated from this box to the Child’s Play charity in the hopes that it would bring a little more joy in the hearts of the charity’s cause.

Due to some negative player complaints, nDoors made this announcement on Atlantica Official site.
…we are saddened to inform you that due to some negative player complaints, Child’s Play has regrettably asked to be withdrawn from our efforts to raise money for their cause. We were informed that Child’s Play received negative emails from Atlantica Online players around the nature of the donation and the box, causing them to request removal from our fundraising efforts. It is incredibly unfortunate that we are unable to give the donation amount that More >
New Year Poll @ AOCVault!
Dec 30th
…And the results of our Update 1.06 poll are IN!
Update 1.06 keeps on getting better and better. We asked you about your opinion on its current state…
click here if you don’t see the image As you can see, Guild Renown earned the most respect among the players so far (17 votes). Equal amounts of votes (11) went to RP changes and undocumented items like Horse Racing track near Tarantia, as well as Raid Token system that makes each raid run count even if you don’t get any items. Fewer among you (10) are glad to find T3 raid finally approaching. Some among you (9 votes) thought that PVP arenas are a nice addition, and find existing ideas about PVP balance lacking. Now, let’s see about our new Vault Poll; the year ends, and with it, it’s time to sum up the year we had in Hyboria.

Best of WoW.com: November 2009
Dec 30th
November saw the celebration of WoW’s fifth anniversary, the introduction of the pet store, and a steady avalanche of news from the patch 3.3 PTR. Drama Mamas: When a partner wanders astray: The Drama Mamas answer one of their hardest and most unsettling questions. Cataclysm: The exhaustive list of old-world changes (so far): Sacco goes over all the known information concerning upcoming zone and dungeon changes in Cataclysm with a fine-tooth comb. Blizzard: Arenas were a mistake: Blizzard’s VP of game design says that arenas as they were implemented were probably not the best idea. Let a thousand comments bloom. Blizzard launches real-money in-game pet store: The destination for data-mined pets we’d seen earlier that had never materialized in-game is finally revealed — Blizzard’s selling them. The march to micro-transactions continues apace, and not everyone is happy about it. Patch 3.3 PTR: Get a pug when you PUG: The destination for the Perky Pug is also revealed, and players are somewhat happier about that, particularly after finding some of the pug’s more interesting animations.

New Year Message – news from RuneScape
Dec 30th
A very happy New Year to you all! We hope that you are filling your boots with good cheer and Party Pete-like celebrations.
During the first half of 2009 we learnt a whole lot from our community and focused mostly on improving our underlying technology and switching back to weekly updates. While this was possibly less exciting to some, it was very necessary to set the stage to make possible the updates we had planned for the second half of the year. Looking back at 2009, there have been some pretty big updates. A few highlights include:
- Finishing the goblin storyline with The Chosen Commander.
- High-level training updates for several skills with the Living Rock Caverns, the Agility extensions and the Woodcutting sawmill.
- New rewards for skills, like the ancient curses, the extreme potions and the dragon pickaxe.
- The Evil Tree.
- Cool quests like Curse of Arrav, Blood Runs Deep, Hunt for Red Raktuber and The Temple at Senntisten.
- The Objective and Advisor systems.
- And lets not forget about new support for resizing the game window (even in Standard Detail mode) – no more playing in a tiny window!
So, what is the new year going to bring? For one, we want to continue producing quests at the More >
Mensagem de Ano Novo – notícias de RuneScape
Dec 30th
Primeiro, queremos continuar produzindo missões com a mesma qualidade More >

- Vollbildmodus selbst in SD!

Know Your Lore: The Alliance
Dec 30th
Welcome back to Know Your Lore, WoW.com’s column about the story behind the game we all play.
This week on KYL, we move away from the Fall of the Lich King (although in the months to come expect more Icecrown related KYL’s) and out to the larger world and the major factions that contend across it. I thought we’d start with the Alliance this week for a number of reasons, the first and most important among them being that the Alliance would not exist without the Horde, while the Horde’s existence owes itself to forces transcending the Alliance. Because of this, doing the Alliance first will leave open questions that the Horde section next week will help answer.
The Alliance as it stands at this moment in time is a far different entity than the one originally known as the Alliance of Lordaeron. That Alliance was one of seven human nations (Azeroth, Lordaeron, Stromgarde, Kul Tiras, Alterac, Dalaran and Gilneas) with the Dwarves of Ironforge, Gnomes of Gnomeregan and High Elves of Quel’Thalas. This Alliance was born directly out of the statecraft of King Terenas Menethil of Lordaeron and the military leadership of Anduin Lothar, the Lion of Azeroth and last living More >
Encrypted Text: New Year’s Resolutions
Dec 30th
Every Wednesday, Chase Christian of Encrypted Text invites you to enter the world of shadows, as we explore the secrets and mechanics of the Rogue class. This week, we discuss the list of the things you should accomplish before 2011.
With 2009 fading quickly and Cataclysm on the horizon in the upcoming year, the WotLK chapter of our lives as rogues is coming to a close. Preliminary numbers from Icecrown Citadel show rogues performing admirably, especially on fights like the Deathbringer, where we truly get to focus on a tight rotation and maximum single target DPS. While much of ICC has yet to be unlocked, I am confident that we’ll find the best way to tackle the challenges it will place in front of us.
Arena season number 8 (and likely Wrath’s final season) is to be released shortly as well, which will see rogues vying against the plate classes for the top melee DPS honors. Cataclysm is bringing some of the most sweeping changes the game has ever seen, and so this is our last chance to experience the WotLK rogue before it disappears forever. Between the talent tree rebuild, the complete stat overhaul, and the massive world disruptions that are planned, we are running out of More >
