WoW Moviewatch: Happy Anniversary
Jan 29th
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was tipped off to Happy Anniversary by Britty. I hadn’t previously been exposed to her work, so she was relatively unknown to me. This is her fifth machinima, and she started off her notation about the video acknowledging that it’s (yet another) Evanescence-inspired WoW video. I’ll admit, I didn’t have high hopes.
Within a very short time, though, I was completely blown away. Britty’s skill for animation is very clear, and her characters are immediately accessible. She’s definitely got some amazing chops. She mentioned in her excerpt that she didn’t include any voice acting or lip synching for Happy Anniversary because she didn’t feel the story required it. I absolutely agree with her. Between the power of the imagery and her perfect timing with the music, she absolutely conveyed the narrative without any additional voices or character singing.
The video has a fairly harsh ending, which I think is appropriate given the context of the video. It’s actually a little more raw and gritty than what I was expecting to have happen, so it wins a few style points in my book. This was a great video, and I’m totally going to check out Britty’s other work More >
Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures: The Road to Most Improved: Aug – Dec
Jan 29th
MMORPG.com Age of Conan Reporter John Humphrey writes this multi-part article detailing Age of Conan’s 2009 progress toward being named MMORPG.com’s Most Improved MMO. In today’s addition, he discusses changes and events for the game from August to December.
In August 2009, the veil was finally removed from the Expansion mystery. "Rise of the Godslayer" will be released by the end of the first half of 2010. In December 2009, I released a two-part article on the expansion, so I shall not repeat all that material here. This news seemed to capture all of the attention surrounding Age of Conan, and we, as a whole, seemed to miss what was being said about the Updates and other patches to the current system that were being released throughout the year. It seemed like the majority of the questions introduced by interviews and articles throughout the second half of the year seemed to be trying to uncover more information about the next year’s content.
The Night of Lost Souls content was introduced in late October 2009. This Halloween-inspired event sent the player across Hyboria on errands for a Spirit near the Library of Old Tarantia to seek down and destroy three Lost Souls. In More >
The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Protection warriors 101
Jan 29th
The Care and Feeding of Warriors is WoW.com’s weekly column for warriors. This week, we jump on the bandwagon. Matthew Rossi tends to miss jumping on bandwagons, fall, and hurt himself, followed by a lot of swearing. It’s actually somewhat entertaining to watch.
There is, ultimately, only one thing warriors actually do.
We hit things. We don’t poison them, we don’t electrocute them, we don’t burn them or freeze them or hit them with diseases or the Holy Light. We just hit them.We don’t turn into anything, we don’t stand back and let an animal hit things for us, we just plain hit things. We hit things and get angry, and we get hit and get angry about that, too.
That being said, warriors can specialize in one of two ways to hit things. One is to heft a big two handed weapon (or two of them) and hit things to death. The other is to put on the heaviest armor we can find, strap a car door to our arm, and get things to hit us as hard as they can, and then hit them back.
This week, we look at protection, the “Is that all you got? Is that it? COME ON!” spec.

De nouveaux testeurs pour Wakfu !
Jan 29th

Around Azeroth: Betrayal
Jan 29th
This screenshot, snapped by Vineath of <Danish Legends> on Stormrage-EU, shows fan-favorite evil troll Drakuru being slain by the Lich King (spoiler alert for anyone time traveling from December 2008!) Poor Drakuru. I only wish he could return from the dead to get his revenge. Wouldn’t that be a great ending for the final fight of Icecrown Citadel? And then Fonzie can jump over a shark.
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We’d love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word “Azeroth” in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing — use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val’kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

FIFA Online : EA annonce FIFA Online en Occident
Jan 29th
