Totem Talk: Haste and restoration shaman
Mar 30th
Want to be a sultan of swing healing? A champion of Chain Heal? Totem Talk: Restoration will show you how. Brought to you by Joe Perez, otherwise known as Lodur from World of Matticus and the For The Lore podcast. Last week we talked about choosing a role for restoration and in that piece we talked about how raid healing shaman prioritize haste as their top stat. Haste is one of those stats that gained massive popularity around the time of Ulduar. Shaman were having a hard time fitting into hard mode kills as healers, and Chain Heal was slipping behind Wild Growth and Circle of Healing due to limited range between jumps and the need of many people to spread out beyond the maximum range (at the time 8 yards). Haste allowed healing shaman to use other spells to greater effect in these times, helping to close the gap somewhat.
Through Trial of the Crusader and now well into Icecrown Citadel, haste has remained on top of most end game raiding shaman stat priority lists. Almost any blog you visit now will exalt the virtues of haste as the primary stat. Truth is it can be useful in many situations and there More >
Global Agenda: "I" Alliance Achieves First Zone Conquest
Mar 30th
Last Thursday the "I" Alliance became the first Alliance to fully conquer one of Global Agenda's Conquest Zones.
ePeen, the lead Agency of the I Alliance, posted an article on their website detailing their path to victory, which was at times quite arduous:
It feels like we have been at this for a very long time. It is hard to believe the game only launched 2 months ago. The agency started as a solo mercenary group for hire that had a desire to be the best. After a lot of positioning, hardwork, and great team play we made good on our goal to become the world first winners in Global Agenda. Not so long ago it was just our agency fighting to secure our own base and holding off the CTC alliance onslaught to get our shields up. Home tree is where it all started.
The road has been far from easy, we have had to remove some major threats along the way and had help from some great friends to make the difference. Our first major assault came against an alliance that at one point held almost as much of the map as the iMMoRtALs alliance did. The OP alliance was a More >

15 Minutes of Fame: Questing through what Cataclysm will change forever
Mar 30th
15 Minutes of Fame is WoW.com’s look at World of Warcraft personalities of all shapes and sizes — from the renowned to the relatively anonymous, from the remarkable to the player next door. Tip us off to players you’d like to hear more about.
Leveling an alt in today’s pre-expansion era is an exercise in nostalgia: “Last time we’ll ever search for Mankrik’s wife” and “Last time we’ll have to run back and forth to the red crystal.” Cataclysm will destroy Azeroth as we know it. The game world will be changed forever, even for players who do not purchase the expansion. Will even Barrens chat survive? (/gasp)
Into this volatile atmosphere steps a guild with a purpose: <There and Back Again>. This Alliance-side group of rerollers on US Thorium Brotherhood is devoted to romping through all the content that will be gone, gone, gone come Cataclysm. It’s a quest that innumerable alts across Azeroth are undoubtedly pursuing on their own — but these folks are doing it together in one happy, sprawling effort. “While I’d love to have great numbers of new people come over and join us for our fun little endeavor, I don’t want to oversell what it is: we’re having More >
The History and Lore of Hunters
Mar 30th
From Rexxar:
I have watched the other races. I have seen their squabbling, their ruthlessness. Their wars do nothing but scar the land and drive the wild things to extinction. No, they cannot be trusted. Only beasts are above deceit.
For as long as there have been beasts there have been men to hunt them and befriend them. The hunters of the World of Warcraft are the stalkers of the wild things. They live deeply in tune with nature and make the mighty beasts their loyal companions. Hunters understand the bond between the themselves and the ones they hunt. They understand the natural circle of life and death, and the part they must play in maintaining it not simply as researchers, but as active participants. The “Hunt” is venerated, and the prey they choose to stalk is given as much respect as the predators hunters choose to learn from and embody.
The Hunters known in WoW actually first appeared only as Elven Rangers in the early days of the Warcraft franchise. Alleria Windrunner led them from QuelThalas to help the humans in their battle against the Orcish Horde in the first war. Though it wasnt known at the time, Rexxar also played More >
MMO Roundup: Betas, patches, trailers and vampires
Mar 30th
Sometimes you’d like to know that there are other MMOs out there, right? It’s not all WoW, all the time! Our sister site Massively can provide you with everything you need to know about all of the other MMOs around, past, present and future.
SWTOR testing portal discovered, confirmed by BioWare Few communities are as enthusiastic about their upcoming MMO as the one surrounding Star Wars: The Old Republic. Recently, they found what appeared to be a testing portal for the game and the discovery created a fervor of speculation and discussion on the official forums — mostly surrounding whether or not beta was near.
Funcom teases new Secret World trailer We here at Massively aren’t ashamed to admit that we’re looking forward to The Secret World. Between our sit-down with Ragnar Tornquist at GDC10 and the juicy bits of into slowly making their way out of the game’s unofficial web sites, we’re, to put it mildly, stoked. The new trailer features a healthy dose of story-based voiceover, glimpses of combat gameplay, and oh yeah, player characters shooting fire from their hands and hacking away with samurai swords.

Star Wars The Old Republic : Smuggler’s Vanguard en Français (Deuxième partie)
Mar 30th
