World of Warcraft: WoW?s Challenge

One of the more interesting facets in World of Warcraft's upcoming expansion Mists of Pandaria is Challenge Mode. In our latest WoW Factor, we take a look at Challenge Mode and what it means for players. Check it out and then leave your thoughts in the comments.
Instances by their own right are fun. They are a quick way to pass the time in an MMO and usually don’t take too long. Challenge Mode now comes in to give players an even faster reason to finish instances. I cannot really say how I feel about this idea in WoW. I don’t think it is bad for the game, and if anything it is one of the pieces of Pandaria that I truly like the most. The faster your team can complete a dungeon the quicker you are to getting a medal. Gold, Silver, and Bronze make up the winnings. In some ways I definitely like the challenge that this presents to players. There are several catches though.

Atlus Online with ZQGame is launching Shadowland Online

ATLUS ONLINE has revealed its partnership with ZQGame to launch the free-to-play MMORTS Shadowland Online.
To celebrate this launch, Shadowland is offering exclusive items for ATLUS ONLINE users and hosting special events during the launch period and throughout the month of May.
In addition new Shadowland players who register via ATLUS ONLINE during launch (from May 3rd to June 3rd) will be offered an exclusive ATLUS ONLINE Beginners Pack ($15), providing new users with 3,000 gold coins, 250 diamond, and 150 battle achievements, also will host a Double Battle Achievement Weekends (May 11-13, May 18 -20) for all Shadowland players.
Shadowlands Online is a social strategy game that allows gamers to manage and expand their empires to discover new environments, regions, characters, and quests. 2 new contests have arrived to the browser version of Requiem

Gravity Interactive, has started two contests for the browser version of their MMO, Requiem.
All users will be treated to a 40% EXP bonus when logged in using the web client or the full client. This bonus stacks will all premium items including pets and scrolls for the biggest boon found in Requiem yet. Use this time to build your character, preparing for the PVP sweepstakes. Skyward Sphere – Live launch into space on May 9th, 12:00 UTC – news from EvE

Wednesday May 9th at 12:00 UTC we will take our first step together into space!
This is our way of saying thank you to you our players and we hope that this endeavor brings a smile to your face.
The plan We are releasing a high altitude balloon just north of CCP HQ and the hope is that the balloon will drift over the harbour and the CCP HQ. The balloon will carry a replica of an EVE pod, containing the names of our players, into the stratosphere as promised at the end of last year.
The students of the University of Reykjavík who are handling the launch have made the prediction that it will land in the middle of Kleifarvatn lake. Iceland Telecom who is partnering with us in this adventure is providing us with live video feed and GPS tracking via their 3G Samsung Note. The live feed will start shortly before 12:00 UTC and should last the whole flight all the way up to 100.000 feet.
Additionally we have 3 high definiton cameras on board and we will make the recovered recordings available in a few days time.

Today, the Practice Phase began and will last until May 8. As the name suggests, this is for practice. If you’re after a Murkimus or a Vanquisher title for your live realm characters, you should absolutely use this period to form teams and get ready to go, but your games won’t count toward your eventual ranking or toward your title or pet.
On May 8, your rating will be reset to 0, and Ranked Ladder Phase 1 (snappy title) begins. Matches played in this period will count toward pets and titles, as well as eventual ranking. Once you’re into this phase, your team will lose 150 points of rating if you take on new players, so try to make sure your team roster is sorted out before May 8. If a player leaves your team, you won’t be penalized.

One of the more controversial aspects of the upcoming Guild Wars 2 is its microtransaction system, the details of which were tightly under wraps until the recent NDA-free public beta weekend. Now that the public’s had a look-see, ArenaNet brought its gem store out into the open for all to see.
The browser version of the store, which is also available in the game itself, is only partially functional at the moment. While it does list the categories, items, and icons for its wares, it’s lacking any prices, descriptions, or ability to purchase.
It’s worth a look if you want a first-hand view of the goods that ArenaNet hopes will power Guild Wars 2′s profitability, of course. The categories include style, consumable, support, account, boosts, and minis.

BioWare has often stated that fans are central Star Wars: The Old Republic’s development. Decisions ranging from the weapon design to ranked warzones have been influenced by direct feedback from fans. So this week, the SWTOR community team has shifted its focus back on the fans by highlighting some of the extraordinary players of the game in the triumphant return of Fan Friday, which highlights (among others) the image above by Spartanash and others that display player characters in powerful poses and ornate outfits.
The community team says that player Iwipe is an “incredible asset” to the community because of her helpful community guides. Specifically, her 1.2 Dailies and PvE Gear Guide, Hardmode Flashpoint Loot List, and Rakghoul Outbreak Guide top the list of her most impressive pieces. When asked why she writes these guides, she explained, “Forums are a great source of information but it takes time to dig through and find relevant info so I started writing guides and such to help the community out.”
