The Secret World: Make It Visceral Please
May 15th
We've been messing around in Funcom's The Secret World for days now and have generally been having a great time. There is a lot to like in The Secret World but we have one small request: Make the game more visceral. See why we think that and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.
As I anticipated playing The Secret World this month, I was left all quivery feeling inside just at the thought of getting into an MMO that actually was going to make me think for a change. Knowing how awesome the quest system was purported to be only made me gleefully excited about every aspect of TSW.
But something happened along the way to Nirvana: My character actually had to fight monsters and zombies.

Drakensang Online: Bernd Beyreuther Talks Appealing to Fans
May 15th
Drakensang Online has slowly but surely garnering attention around the MMO and action-RPG space for awhile now, even drawing favorable comparisons to that other action RPG that launched this week. In our latest interview, we talk with Drakensang's Head of Development Bernd Beyreuther. See what we discovered and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.
MMORPG.com: How have you tackled the barriers or entry for players? It seems like the game is very quick to get in and play.
Bernd Beyreuther: We understand that not everyone has a beefy computer system, so we’ve made it possible for anyone to access Drakensang Online without compromising the graphical quality or gameplay. It’s a free-to-play browser-based game, so it’s very simple and easy for players to jump in and try the game. We’ve also gone to great lengths to ensure that the game’s first minutes are as smooth as possible to familiarize players with the gameplay. We constantly optimize the game, and have plans to make the first minutes of playtime even quicker and more comfortable for players.

Battle of the Immortals: Our Official BoI Review
May 15th
Perfect World Entertainment's Battle of the Immortals opened in 2010 and has been making steady improvements ever since. We've been putting BoI through its paces. See how it measures up and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.
The world of Motenia is a hot mess. The main players in Motenia lore include The Dragon Emperor, a merciless dictator who was sealed in stone by the Witches of the Millennium; the Goddess of Fate, who had a vision which led her to believe that the Dragon Emperor would find a way to free himself; the Immortals who search for Odin, the God-King; and Demitrios, High Priest of Motenia, now corrupt and seething with hatred. Atop Mount Olympus, Demotrios offers his own blood as a sacrifice to wake Cronos, who in turn wages war upon the Immortals. The future of Motenia depends on the brave few (that would be you!) who will take arms against Cronos, the God of Kings.

The Secret World: Beta Weekend #2 Dated
May 15th
Funcom has announced that the second weekend beta event for The Secret World will occur from Friday, May 18th and run through Sunday, May 20th. Players who have prepurchased the game will have access to The Secret World with their characters from last weekend's event remaining.
Funcom executed a successful first Beta Weekend from May 11th to May 13th, both in terms of player numbers, feedback and technical stability on both client and server side. The company is also encouraged by the fact that this Beta weekend saw higher player numbers, longer play-times and higher return visits than for beta week-ends conducted for its previous MMO, “Age of Conan”. Funcom also teamed up with the world’s largest gaming site GameSpot to bring thousands of keys for the first Beta Weekend to its readers. During the Beta Weekend ‘The Secret World’ featured as the most popular game overall on the site, and as of today the game has a higher number of active followers on GameSpot than any other massively multiplayer online game in development.

Allods Online prepares players for patch 3.0.2 with a new mini-site
May 15th
Allods Online’s mascots are back for another humorous video, as Troll and Crab try their hands (claws) at making potions. It doesn’t quite go as expected, but it’s hard to blame Crab for what happens (he’s just an earnest little guy). This is all to promote the game’s newest update, patch 3.0.2, which promises to be a savory concoction for players to quaff. Over the weekend, gPotato opened up a new mini-site to promote the update and has since posted several new articles highlighting the changes.
Some of patch 3.0.2′s big selling points include a revamp of the Alchemy profession, the ability for pets to do the looting, a neat-sounding mentor system, a new skirmish called The Deserted Farm, a free-for-all treasure hunting space, a new raid boss, and better questing.
