Important news for Supercarrier pilots – news from EvE
Nov 16th
Hi there!
As detailed in (this devblog | http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=2674), we’re making some adjustments to your ship in EVE Online: Crucible, set for release on the 29th of November.
As part of this, we will be reducing the size of your drone bay, and reconfiguring it so that it can only hold Fighter and Fighter Bomber class drones. During the deployment downtime, if your drone bay becomes overfull as a result of this change, or if you have any other classes of drone in your drone bay, all drones in your drone bay will be moved to your hangar in the station containing your medical clone.
As such, we would suggest that you move any drones that aren’t Fighters or Fighter Bombers out of your drone bay, and ensure that the remaining Fighter and Fighter Bomber drones don’t exceed your new capacity, before the expansion is deployed, so that you’re not left in space with no weapons at all!
New drone bay capacities will be: 25 Fighters and/or Fighter Bombers for the Aeon, Revenant and Wyvern; 30 Fighters and/or Fighter Bombers for the Nyx and Hel.
Other changes to your ship rolling out as part of Crucible include a reduction in base hitpoints of 10-20% depending More >
Loyalist of the Year Award Announced – news from EvE
Nov 15th
Amarr Empire, New Eden – Each year, PIE Inc. sponsors awards aimed at recognising those who have taken extraordinary steps to further the Amarr Empire over the previous twelve months.
The first of the two awards is the “Amarrian Capsuleer of the Year”. This award is limited to pilots of Amarrian, Khanid, or Ni-Kunni descent who have been recognised for having done the most for the Empire. The second award is the “Loyal Servant of the Year”. This award recognises the pilot, of any race or descent, who has done the most to further the goals of the Empire.
The nomination process is fairly straightforward. People may make nominations for the appropriate awards as long as they are not nominating any current member of PIE Inc., a member of their current corporation, or themselves. In addition to this, current members of PIE Inc. are not permitted to make nominations.
Admiral Rodj Blake, of PIE Inc., stated how it works: “Although it is PIE who decides upon the winners, we do not nominate them. Therefore, for someone to win, they must have impressed not only PIE but the wider capsuleer community. As such their deed can be held up as an example More >

EVE Online: Interrupted by Starshine
Nov 14th
Yet another MMORPG.com writer has had to tear himself away from the allure of Skyrim in order to fulfill obligations to our readers. In this week's One Jump Home, Ross McDermott takes a look at CCP's recent ship overhauls and at the four ships coming to an EVE server near you. Read on and then let us know what you think in the comments!
Hybrids have been significantly overhauled, the power-grid and CPU requirements to fit Hybrid weaponry have been lowered allowing for greater flexibility on the hulls they're meant to be mounted too. In addition to this, several Hybrid hulls – mainly Gallente hulls – had their manoeuvrability and their agility increased, allowing for greater base speed and attempting to negate the speed penalties applied via fitting armor modules such as Trimark Armor Pumps or Armor Repair Systems.
