Warhammer Online: Community Update for April
Apr 21st
Patch 1.4.2
Patch 1.4.2 is now on the live servers and receiving predominantly positive feedback; the most controversial discussion is the armor set changes – which was one of the focal points of the patch. We are eager to see how the situation on the live servers will change now – especially in T4 based on these changes.
In the meantime, we are following up this patch with the planned changes to physical mitigation that we discussed in the forums. If all goes well we can get the change on PTS to get some feedback so we can introduce the change to the live servers as soon as possible.
Speaking of next patch: We are planning to launch version 1.4.3 in late June. We will talk about the exact highlights as the patch date approaches, but the upcoming ’Sigmar Tide’ event will be an important part of that release.
Live Event: Sigmar Tide
Let the revels begin! Every citizen, soldier, and servant in the Empire takes pause at this festive time of year to celebrate the day Sigmar became a god. It is a time to purge the Empire of the taint of Chaos. Meanwhile, the forces of Destruction seek to undermine the Empire More >

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: v1.4.2 On Its Way
Apr 19th
Warhammer Online developers are busy whipping the company squirrels into action to upload the v1.4.2 patch to all servers. The new patch brings scenario shake-ups, new Tier 4 power alterations and new pets into WAR. Servers are expected to be up and running again no later than 1:00 p.m. EST today.
Power Changes
The highlight of this patch is a continuing focus on the Tier 4 experience in terms of power levels and power gaps. We took a look at the mechanics for players at all applicable Renown ranks within Tier 4 with a specific focus on the interplay between characters that are above Renown Rank 80 and those that are below. Based on the metrics, feedback, and discussions about this, we decided to make some changes to the mechanics and items that are available within this Tier. A number of item changes, additional items, and small tweaks were made in preparation for this in the previous patch cycle. This patch continues that process. For more details, see the individual sections below.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Dev Perspectives on RvR
Mar 11th
The Warhammer Online team has penned a new 'inside perspectives' article with several devs weighing in on Realm vs Realm play. Steven Engle and Keaven Freeman offer their thoughts on careers, class balance and more with specific regard to RvR play.
The campaign gives players a very compelling reason to engage in RvR. The completely revamped City Siege and campaign system (patches 1.3.5 through to 1.4.0) puts a straightforward emphasis on RvR that flows through the game. By providing the skeletal structure, around which skirmishes and battles can form and grow into larger full-scale battles, players are given the chance to influence and direct the campaign in the direction that best serves their ends. This in turn feds the overarching goals you can attain for your realm.

Warhammer Online: WAR and RvR
Mar 11th
Greetings,
We’ve been thinking about the core strengths of WAR, and talking to the designers and wanted to share some inside perspectives with you. WAR is hardcore RvR, kill or be killed. Let’s make no bones about it, unless they’re the bones of your enemy. The combination of skill and aggression that players bring to bear in RvR in WAR is remarkable. RvR is at its most competitive amongst organized groups, however it is often its most fun when players are thrown into the mix in open warbands. Steven Engle and Keaven Freeman share some of their thoughts on careers and class balance and the campaign system of WAR’s RvR.
Steven Engle on career and class balance:
It is very difficult to have 12 individual careers (for each realm) and try to fit them into a 6-person group. I will not blow smoke up your bum and tell you that you can exchange any career out and achieve optimal results. However, the careers do bring different strengths to the battlefield and while each career might not be interchangeable; the game has evolved and careers have either been reduced or increased in efficiency to support different 6-man group builds.
