Big Fights! Official VS Hardcore Players!
Mire, journalist of Dragon’s Call, posted a thread about Alts (Alternate characters) issue, which has been argued fiercely recently. Alts have long been a controversy within Dragon’s Call, with debate over the avenues for exploitation should alternate characters are permitted or not. These days, players are scouted out 700 Alts or so in only one server- S8, especially one of hardcore players has more than ten lvl100 Alts, the official asks for Alts deletion while players resist, thus bringing this dispute to a another climax.

Players say that to permit alternate characters would open the door to arena alts, and some characters were created for the purpose of ranking within the top 9 of the various arena brackets. These characters generally boast complete or near complete sets of +9 sacrilege quality gear and shine with 800+ soul power, making it near impossible for normal players within the same bracket to place and obtain additional honor points. Farming for gems, dragonshards and sacrilege gear from either the NPC stores or from rare loot drops has also been a problem with alts.

“I’ve probably been fired already because if I saw the conversation I with these worthless failures, that I had on messenger last night in the world chat, I’d have muted myself for profanity.” ErtemisAntreriPost, one of the players is totally against it.
One Chat Moderator of Dragon’s Call said: “Is it fair on Dragon Gold buyers who buy Gems or Prismatics when normal players are able to receive a good amount of Gems free purely from exploiting a feature in the game for personal gain? Because that’s what they’re doing, exploiting. Not a major form of exploiting, but exploiting none-the-less.”
Up until recently, the rules regarding the existence and allowance of Alts within Dragon’s Call has stated that Alts created before 4-11-2011 were to be allowed, seeing as that was the date the “no alts” rule was introduced. However, alts have been ever present; a quick glance at the lower arena brackets is evidence enough. Recently, a few members of the volunteer staff, Redsent, notably [GH] (Game helper), senior GH of server 8, have worked with Schutz, [GM] (Game Master) to identify and remove an obscene number of alts from server 8. This along with the very recent change to the “no alts” rule, under which even the alts created before 4-11-2011 would be disallowed, has resulted in backlash from the player community, escalating to a clash between a portion of the player community and the Admin Team of EverDream.
Some players, dating back to when Dragon’s Call was initially launched in early 2010, have expressed outrage, with many having expended immeasurable time, effort and even dragon gold into their alternate characters. A portion of these players own multiple characters at the level cap of 130, not an easy feat with leveling nearing the cap, taking well over a week, with full action point (ap) expenditure.
On the other side of the debate is the EverDream Admin Team, whose view is that alts being permitted would lead to exploitation and result in an unfair advantage, unbalancing the game and the devs. would need to resort to measures such as gold sinks and the like in an attempt to siphon off the proceeds and alt abuse.
The issue remains as hot topic amongst players, with arguments from both sides still ongoing. What is your opinion? Is the deletion against the benefits of allowing players to explore each of the three different classes?
