Cataclysm Dungeon Guide: Vortex Pinnacle

Ahh, the Vortex Pinnacle, for whenever I want to go hit up an instance that involves jumping in cyclones (or tornadoes) that toss you from platform to platform.
This 5-man instance is the … pinnacle of the Skywall complex in the Uldum zone. You can find it just southeast of the shores. Make sure you go the right direction or else you might end up in the Throne of the Four Winds raid instance. Oh, and you’re going to need a flying mount. The forces of Al’Akir are waiting to storm Uldum and the rest of Azeroth. Our mission, if we choose to accept it, is to clear out the place and prevent them from really establishing a foothold on our lands.

Totem Talk: A Cataclysm 101 guide for enhancement shaman

Every week, WoW Insider brings you Totem Talk for elemental, enhancement, and restoration shaman. This week, Josh Myers joins us to review the lowdown on playing an enhancement shaman in the Cataclysm era.
As an enhancement shaman, the last time I was afraid of taking on a mob solo was the third grade. With Bloodlusted wolves at my back, Windfury in my hand, and the massive power of instant Greater Healing Waves every 10 or so seconds, soloing was a breeze. Chillmaw? Soloed him daily. Attumen the Huntsman? Weekly. Gamom, level 5 elite neutral tauren? Every chance I got (until Blizzard force fed him “performance” pills).
Going into the Cataclysm beta, if Blizzard wrote a post on its forums warning that solo mobs will actually start threatening my life, I would have written it off as a Public Service Announcement for those pesky mages and rogues who had to worry about things like dying in leveling content. Actually, when Blizzard did write that post on its forums, I wrote it off as a pesky PSA for pures with no self-heals. And then I died. I died quite a bit … until I stopped trying to AoE grind.

If you’re sitting there at your keyboard right now violently coveting your upcoming Cataclysm experience and daydreaming of all the places you’ll go, we here at WoW Insider would like nothing better than to aid and abet you in your wacky escapades. And since Cataclysm is launching on International Matthew Rossi’s Birthday, who better to help you figure out where you intend to stream like an unstoppable torrent of locusts? Well, there may be lots of better options, but I’m doing it anyway.

Cataclysm 101: What to do first in Cataclysm

Cataclysm has already gone live in Europe, and it’s only hours away now for those of us in North America. Are you prepared for it? Do you know what you need to know to hit the ground running when Cataclysm content becomes active on live realms? If you don’t, we’re here to help. Below are answers to some of the most common questions that have been asked about starting the Cataclysm experience. How do I learn to fly in old Azeroth? You can get your Flight Master’s License in Outland or Northrend, but the much better options are Stormwind for the Alliance and Orgrimmar for the Horde. Horde players want to talk to Maztha and Alliance players want to talk to Bralla Cloudwing. Wowhead has excellent maps for finding both of them.

Erinnert ihr euch noch, dass viele Leute auf dem Forum uns gebeten hatten, einen schönen, roten Drachen-Parierdolch im Spiel einzuführen? Ab heute könnt ihr einen von den edlen Wächtern der Gilde der Krieger erhalten… aber nur, wenn ihr bereits einen Runit-Parierdolch besitzt und noch mehr Zeit in Kamfreenas Zyklopen-Raum verbringt.
Während ihr euch in dem Raum aufhaltet, um euch den Drachen-Parierdolch zu verdienen, kann es sein, dass die Zyklopen ziemlich wütend werden und ihren großen bewaffneten Bruder herbeiholen den Zyklossus. Der ist kein Schwächling, und ihr solltet einen Runit- oder Drachen-Parierdolch handhaben. Aber wenn ihr es schafft, ihn zu besiegen, werdet ihr gut belohnt!
Um euch dabei zu helfen, den Drachen-Parierdolch zu ergattern, haben die anderen Trainer in der Gilde der Krieger ihre eigenen Trainingsräume auch etwas angepasst. So werdet ihr bemerken, dass eure Stufe in Stärke sowie der Angriffsmodus beim Kugelstoßen ausschlaggebend sind, und dass Jimmy eine zusätzliche Herausforderung anbietet, wenn ihr eure alkoholische Kopfbedeckung tragt.
Außerdem müsst ihr jetzt nicht mehr eimerweise Marken mit euch herumschleppen diese werden in einem praktischen Interface festgehalten. Warriors' Guild and Dragon Defender – news from RuneScape

You know that shiny red dragon defender that so many people have been suggesting on the forums? Well, from today, you can get one from the noble custodians of the Warriors’ Guild…that is if you already own a rune defender and spend some more time in Kamfreena’s cyclops room.
While in that room after a dragon defender, the cyclopes may just have had enough of you killing off their brethren, and call in their bigger, meaner brother-in-arms the cyclossus. He’s no pushover, and youll need a rune or dragon defender equipped, but should you be able to defeat him youll find yourself well rewarded!
To aid you in gaining a dragon defender, the other trainers at the Warriors’ Guild have made some small tweaks to their own training rooms. For instance, you’ll find that your Strength level and stance really makes a difference when throwing the shot, and Jimmy’s added a little extra challenge when youre wearing your alcoholic headpiece.
You’ll also no longer have to carry around bagfuls of tokens, as they are now just kept track of in a handy interface. You can also use a new multi-token mode in the cyclops room, which will give you more time More >

À partir daujourdhui, elle est disponible auprès dun des gardiens de la guilde des guerriers… à condition davoir déjà la main-gauche runique et de ne pas avoir peur daffronter les cyclopes de Kamfreena.
Las d’être à la merci des aventuriers de passage, ils finiront peut-être par faire appel à leur grand frère darmes, le redoutable cyclossus. Il vous donnera du fil à retordre, mais en vous équipant dune main-gauche runique ou draconique, vous devriez pouvoir le vaincre et être récompensé en conséquence !
Pour vous aider dans votre quête de la main-gauche draconique, les autres gardiens de la guilde ont légèrement modifié leurs exercices dentraînement. Vous constaterez par exemple que votre niveau en Force et votre posture influenceront désormais votre lancer de poids. Jimmy, quant à lui, a ajouté une petite difficulté à son exercice.
Vous naurez plus besoin de trimbaler des sacs de jetons. Les gardiens de la guilde se chargent désormais de comptabiliser vos gains par lintermédiaire dune interface très pratique. Guilda dos Guerreiros e Sabre Dragônico – notícias de RuneScape

Lembra daquele sabre dragônico vermelho que todo mundo estava falando nos fóruns? Bem, a partir de hoje, você poderá conseguir um com os nobres guardiões da Guilda dos Guerreiros… ou melhor dizendo, isso se você já tiver um sabre rúnico e passar um tempinho a mais na sala dos ciclopes da Kamfreena.
Enquanto estiver naquela sala em busca do sabre dragônico, é possível que os ciclopes fiquem irritados com você matando todos seus companheiros. Se isso acontecer eles chamarão seu maior e mais malvado irmão: o ciclossus.
Para ajudar um pouco na sua busca pelo sabre dragônico, os outros treinadores da Guilda dos Guerreiros fizeram algumas melhorias em suas próprias salas de treinamento. Por exemplo, você verá que os níveis de Força e precisão realmente fazem diferença no arremesso de peso; e Jimmy também adicionou um desafio extra na hora de você mostrar se tem bom equilíbrio ou não.
Você não precisará mais carregar fichas para lá e para cá, pois agora, elas são contabilizadas numa interface bastante útil. Você também poderá usar o novo modo de fichas múltiplas na sala dos ciclopes, o que lhe dará mais tempo lá dentro e aumentará suas chances de conseguir um sabre dragônico.

Cataclysm launches in Europe, servers currently down [Updated]

In what may be the least surprising event of the year, Europe’s World of Warcraft servers have gone down almost immediately after the expansion’s launch in that region. Even Europe’s Battle.net web resources appear to be down for maintenance (or are merely offline due to overwhelming load).
How long will this downtime last? We’re not sure, but we will do our very best to keep you updated on European server status. European players, if you have any tips or updates on your server’s status, don’t be afraid to contact us via our tip line. We love to hear from you!
Update: It appears the culprit is the login/authentication server. Once you beat the login boss, the game realms themselves seem to be running just fine.
