Land of Chaos Online MMO Open Beta to Begin on August 3

Burda:ic, a leading publisher of online games worldwide, today announced that the Open Beta Test for highly anticipated RTS action RPG LOCO – Land of Chaos Online will begin on August 3. For the first time, the Land of Chaos will be accessible to any and all players who dare to visit its perilous battlefields, putting themselves in the shoes of 30 characters from two factions vying for total domination.

Shot Online MMO to be Part of GNGWC 2010 Finals

Sunnyvale, Calif. (July 29, 2010) – Sunnyvale-based online game publisher, Games Campus (www.gamescampus.com, run by OnNet USA), announced today the online golf simulation Shot-Online has once again been selected for the Game N Game World Championship 2010 (GNGWC). The GNGWC 2010 regional finals will take place July 31st in Los Angeles with two of the finalists going on to compete for the grand prize in Busan, Korea on November 21 at G*.
The GNGWC is the international game championships composed of Korean games and takes place around the world with regional finals in North America, Europe and South America. Martial Empires MMORPG to Combat Spammers and Troublemakers

Hamburg, July 29, 2010 – It’s time for bots and chat spammers to say farewell, gamigo has declared. A slew of anti-bot measures will be implemented into its popular new MMORPG Martial Empires to ensure undisturbed gameplay.
A special highlight of this new security package is a new kind of opponent: the Suricat Police. This new kind of vigilante patrols different areas in the game and warns players against attacking them. Players that heed their warning have nothing to worry about. A bot that ignores their warning, though, will be turned into a ghost and unable to play.

As an added measure of security, players will be prompted at set intervals to type in a code. Entering the right code will be rewarded with a buff. To protect against spammers, the global chat channels will only be open to characters who have reached level 15 and troublemakers can be ignored permanently.

WoW Moviewatch: Oxhorn Brand Medley

It’s been a little while since we’ve enjoyed some Oxhorn in this column, and the maestro of machinima music was brought up yesterday in the comments. With that in mind, I wanted to take a moment and revisit one of my favorite pieces by Oxhorn: the Oxhorn Brand Medley.
Not only was this the first machinima I shared with my beloved wife, it’s also the first WoW song I got stuck in my head for months. To this day, I can be heard cruising around the office, humming it under my breath. That’s certainly annoying for my office mates, but it helps the day pass.
If you’re not experienced with Oxhorn, take the time to go check out a bunch of his early stuff. He’s a great musician and his machinima is a lot of fun.

Frogster International has announced that it will be hosting a Runes of Magic fashion show during this year's GamesCom in Cologne, Germany. The fashion show will feature clothing designer, Textilzelle, and its interpretation of seven different character classes from the game.
Upon completion of the professional fashion show, Runes of Magic fans will have their chance on the runway. Models will be judged by a celebrity panel.
Did we mention that there will be a Playboy model on hand to judge the contest?
The event will be presented by Florian Kamolz, former presenter of the German gaming TV channel ‘GIGA’ along with Gina-Lisa Lohfink, a well-known model who was recently featured on the front cover of German Playboy.

Fallen Earth: Advisory Set Near Quarantine

The Fallen Earth team has issued a challenge to players: "Quarantine" has replaced "Monkeytown". Players are encouraged to adventure out to the area to check on the suspicious activity and capture screens to document what they find.
It has been confirmed. A lone clone venturing out near Monkeytown found the remains of what looked to be one of the many Apes that reside in the area.
Suspicious of the warning from the Franklin’s Riders, the clone reported the incident. Please look for “Quarantine” in place of “Monkeytown” when out and about in the wastes and again, stay on high alert.
A few Techs and Vistas have stationed themselves there to keep a look out… If you are able to, please capture screens of the area and any other usual activity you see while in and around the area and post them here. Clones who are able to capture clear evidence will be rewarded with a special in-game item.
