Ever wonder if MMO devs play the MMO they’re developing? Apparently the answer is yes in the case of Star Wars: The Old Republic. A new dev blog by BioWare executive producer Rich Vogel minces few words on that particular subject. “Every single one of us on the development team plays the game, and we see the same issues you do and where we need to expand,” Vogel writes.

The rest of the wall o’ text isn’t quite as illuminating. Vogel starts by defining bugs and exploits, and he offers a few generalities in regards to BioWare’s ability to quickly respond to both types of issues.

It’s worth a read if you’re heavily invested in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and you’ll find it on the game’s official site.

The first in a series of monthly update letters has appeared on the Anarchy Online site. Fia "Lindelu" Tjernberg announces in her post that the graphics team will shortly be producing and publishing a new video to show off the new graphics engine and that new bug reporting forums have been created.

In addition to the above, Tjernberg details new Solitus heads are in the works and that the team is hard at work compiling data for forthcoming changes to professions. Lastly, the team is examining the possibility of merging servers.

Turbine and the Dungeons & Dragons Online team have put out the first information about Update 13: Web of Chaos. Web of Chaos is the prequel to the forthcoming expansion, Menace of the Underdark.

The patch will bring three free quests into the game. Players will be able to earn or purchase the ability to start a character at level seven for a head start. Omnispell Dust and Omnispell Stone come into the game as a replacement for the material component of magic spells. New items will be added to the DDO store.
