Aion: New Zones = Extreme Dangers
Jun 17th
MMORPG.com has teamed up with NCSoft and the Aion developers to bring our readers a first ever look at three new zones coming with Aion v4.0. These three are gorgeous to behold but pack a lot of danger for unwary Daevas. Read up on the lore and get a good look at the new areas before heading to the comments.
Katalam was originally occupied by an ancient race known as the Danuar. After the Cataclysm, Tiamat invaded Katalam in an attempt to gain even greater power by acquiring a deadly Danuar Hyperion weapon. While she succeeded in occupying Katalam, she failed to harness the weapon’s power. Failure to properly fuel the weapon contaminated the surrounding areas, mutating the creatures in Katalam with Ide, the weapon’s power source. Desperate to reclaim their lands, the Danuar attempted to repel the Tiamat legion. However, they made a fatal mistake by detonating one of their weapons, which resulted in the ancient people’s demise.

Aion: A Glimpse Into Aion 4.0
Jun 11th
NCSoft is anxious for players to learn more about Aion 4.0, set to hit the game later this summer. We have teamed up with the developers to give our readers an exclusive in-house interview with Producer Seunguk Baek. Check it out before heading to the comments with your thoughts and questions.
NCSoft: Many players have expressed that they feel that they are “rushed” to end-game more and more with each new patch. Is the primary focus to get players to end-game as quickly as possible or are there plans to revitalize mid-level content?
Seunguk Baek: The mid-range levels are opportunities for the player to learn the mechanics of the game and prep for end game content. It isn’t good to go through it too quickly, and it’s a bad experience if it drags on too long. The goal is to find the right balance, and we pay close attention to the leveling process.

Aion: Patch 3.1 Hits Servers
Jul 18th
Aion ascends to version 3.1 today with a new patch deployed to live servers. The patch features a number of instance changes, the requisite bug fixes, a new world boss, and 'Fast -Track' server technology.
The fast-track servers are of particular note, as they allow players below level 50 to quickly group up with players and make headway towards the level cap. Given the particular focus of these fast-track servers, there are also a significant amount of restrictions that come with them, including the absence of Rifts, a level cap of 50, as well as numerous economy and social related restrictions.
