The September Development Update letter has been posted on the Age of Conan: Unchained site that lays out the basics of the next four patches coming to the game.

In addition to the basic framework of each patch, the team has revealed "stuff that won't be included in an update": "There is also some content work that is carrying on in the background, and isn't currently set against any one particular update. The stuff on this list will appear scattered throughout the various updates listed above."

Patch highlights:

• v3.1: The Dreamworld technology update
• v3.2: Free content additions and PvP update
• v3.3: Conclusion of the Tier 4 raid experience
• v3.4: Another "mostly technical" update
• v4.0: A new adventure pack with details to be revealed later

Funcom has announced that the Age of Conan Unchained adventure pack, The Savage Coast of Turan, has been released. The adventure pack is a tie-in with the "Conan the Barbarian" film currently in theaters.

The new adventure pack includes a new area to explore, tons of new quests as well as new mounts and monsters. Players will also have the opportunity to interact with characters from the movie.

In the latest Monthly Development Update, the Age of Conan: Unchained team talks about the deployment of the Savage Coast of Turan, a new adventure pack coming in early 2012 and upcoming changes to the tradeskills system. It's a terrific look at what the team has been up to since the release of the free to play "Unchained" version of the game.

We have started preliminary work on a revamp of the tradeskill system that exists in the game. Now that many of the other areas have been tweaked and improved, it is an area that we have wanted to get at for some time. While tradeskills were never a huge selling point for a game with a license like ours, they are a key part of an MMO, so we have started work on new designs to revamp and invigorate the crafting systems in the game. This will be a lengthy process, as it is no small undertaking, and we will talk a lot more in terms of details towards the end of the year, and envision the new systems going live at some stage in the first half of next year (providing, as always, that all goes to plan). Recently Funcom announced the "Conan the Barbarian" movie tie in with the Savage Coast of Turan adventure pack for Age of Conan. MMORPG.com's Garrett Fuller recently had the opportunity to chat withe Funcom's Craig Morrison about Turan. What ties to the movie are you putting into this expansion?

Given the time difference, the movie is set some twenty plus years before the game, we focused more on a couple of the characters. Artus and Ela-Shan, both of whom you will get to see in the movie. In our game Conan is now king of Aquilonia so he cannot always easily go and aid old friends, so instead the players have been sent to Turan to aid Conan's old friends in their current adventures.
