Funcom, the Age of Conan development team and MMORPG.com have teamed up to bring our readers an exclusive preview of the Paikang District. There are two new team instances coming up, both aimed at level 80 players, these instances will be found in the Imperial capital of Paikang in Khitai. Check out this exclusive look at the Paikang District and then leave us a thought or two when finished.
The two new instances, complete with daily quests, take the form of two separate outdoor districts of Paikang – The Ai District and the T’ian’an District. While both are areas of the same, once proud, Imperial capital, they have been effected by the corruption and evil that has spread throughout Khitai in very different ways, and likewise the pace and style of the gameplay is also different between the two areas.

These are busy, and exciting, times around the offices here as we keep up with the current content push there are also a few important announcements just around the corner, that didnt quite make the cut for the deadline on this text.
So this month we will take a look at more detail into the schedule for the next few months, mention some new things, and not mention some more so what does all that mean you can expect to see over the next few months?
The end of this month finds us right in the middle of the deployment push. Lots of new content being released and the proverbial ton of updates, tweaks and adjustments that are either already on the test server, on their way to live, on their way to the test server, or in the final phases of internal testing.
With the latest recruitment drive almost done, (although we are still looking for a few key roles at the time of writing this letter, check out the job section of the website for details!) we now have a lot of new faces on the project, and a great new live producer in Per More >

Monatliches Entwicklungsupdate – April 2011
Im Moment ist es in unseren Büros angesichts der neuen Inhalte, die wir in Kürze veröffentlichen werden, ziemlich hektisch. Außerdem gibt es einige wichtige Ankündigungen, die es nicht mehr in diesen Text geschafft haben. Wir werden also in diesem Monat einen etwas genaueren Blick auf den Zeitplan für die nächsten Monate werfen, dabei auf einige Themen eingehen, andere Themen aber aussparen. Okay, was könnt ihr also in den nächsten paar Monaten erwarten?
Ende dieses Monats erreicht der aktuelle Entwicklungszyklus seinen Höhepunkt. Wir werden jede Menge neue Inhalte und tonnenweise Updates, Tweaks und Verbesserungen veröffentlichen, die bereits auf dem Testserver, auf dem Weg zu den Live-Servern, auf dem Weg zum Testserver oder in der Endphase unserer internen Tests sind.
Nachdem wir unsere aktuelle Einstellungskampagne fast abgeschlossen haben, können wir jetzt viele neue Gesichter begrüßen. (Einige Stellen sind allerdings noch frei. Weitere Infos dazu findet ihr im Jobs-Bereich der Website.) Außerdem haben wir mit Per Storløkken einen großartigen neuen Live Producer (dem einige von euch bereits in den Testserver-Foren begegnet sein dürften). Er und alle anderen setzen alles daran, das Spiel weiter zu verbessern und zu erweitern.

CROMCAST #44 – Die Bärenfalle
Die Veränderungen der Massenbeherrschung erfüllen Testlive und das Forum und wir sind auch mit einem Fuß in der Bärenfalle kein bisschen leise!
Wir leiten eine Gegemaßnahme ein, ziehen den Fuß aus der Falle und stürmen weiter durch den CROMCAST #44, mit dem Ergebnis der Klassenumfrage, Neuigkeiten vom Testlive Server, euren Fragen in Mitras Gebet und einem Teaser für einen Teaser für das Monatliche Entwicklungsupdate. Außerdem stürzen wir uns natürlich in die Umfrage für die nächsten zwei Wochen und bitten euch sie erst zu beantworten, wenn ihr euch selbst spielerisch damit beschäftigt habt, damit das Ergebnis nicht unnötig verfälscht wird.
Deshalb wie immer für euch diese Woche ein prallgefüllter CROMCAST!

Wie lange spielst du schon Age of Conan?Age of Conan ist mein erstes MMOG überhaupt, obwohl ich bereits seit 25 Jahren Computerspiele zocke. Seit 2005 spiele ich Conan als Pen&Paper-Rollenspiel und als ich das erste Mal in der Gamestar einen Vorbericht über das Spiel las, war mir sofort klar: Das musst Du spielen! Endlich mal die Landschaften sehen, die ich durch das Rollenspiel nur vor dem geistigen Auge hatte.
Ich hatte sobald es ging die Collectors Edition vorbestellt und bin daher von Anfang an und ohne Unterbrechung dabei. Die längste Spielpause war ein dreiwöchiger Dänemark-Urlaub, aber ich war alle paar Tage von einem Internet-Cafe im Forum um auf dem laufenden zu bleiben. Ja, ich bin ein Forum-Junkie…

How long have you been playing Age of Conan?I started playing in May 08 on Ferox (pvp-fr) when the game was launched. After a short summer break I migrated to Ishtar (pve-fr) where I still am.
Which playfield/dungeon do you like the most?There are a lot of awesome places to visit.I especially love TothAmons fortress for its challenging encounters and the good time spent working on new strat swith my guildmates.My favorite dungeon is Xibaluku for its emphasis on Adventure.And my favorite playfield definitely is Conalls Valley I hope one day well get a chance to rediscover this zone with new challenges adapted for our high level characters.

CROMCAST #43 – Geflohen in die Zuflucht
Versteckt in der Zuflucht, senden wir aus dem Schatten der Nacht ein klein bisschen verrückt (Tian-bai ist Schuld!) und kein bisschen leise!
Gemäß der Wellenregel folgt nach einem langen CROMCAST, ein etwas kürzer CROMCAST, da uns kurzfristig ein Gast abgesprungen ist und wir keine Zeit mehr für die Aufnahme einer Geschichte hatten.
