Malkalen Disaster Remembered – news from EvE
May 22nd
Malkalen, Lonetrek – On the 5.15.113, the Ishukone-Raata Enforcement Directive held the 3rd annual memorial of the Malkalen Disaster.
John Revenent, CEO of Revenent Defence Corperation and member of The Ishukone-Raata Enforcement Directive, reminded capsuleers of the disaster: “On the date of 05.15.110 YC the Gallente Mothership FNS – Wandering Saint set a collision course into the Ishukone Headquarters killing hundreds of thousands, including Ishukone’s CEO Otro Gariushi. This event caused the dark unstable political landscape we see today.”
John opened up the event with a speech, in which he spoke of those who lost their lives: “May we respect the memories of the fallen, and we will never forget what they stood for.”
The second speaker, Varlerian Ti’kihli, paid his respects to Otro and spoke of the unity within New Eden at the event. “Right now, every single one of you – Amarr, Caldari, Minmatar, Gallente – are one; we are one. We gather here under one purpose… to honour and remember those who were killed on that fateful day three years ago.”
Schlaba Muhos, final speaker, concluded the event by summarising what the event is all about while also extending thanks to capsuleers who attended the event: “We send thanks to everyone More >

BIG Merchant Bank of EVE Celebrates Fifth Year of Operation – news from EvE
May 8th
Jita, The Forge – One of the oldest surviving publically-owned enterprises in New Eden, BIG Merchant Bank [BMBE] recently celebrated its fifth birthday. The BIG Merchant Bank is part of the BIG family of services run by Tornsoul. BIG is perhaps most famous for the BIG Lottery, but over the years a number of services have arisen based on BIG’s reputation for honesty and reliability. Despite occasional setbacks and an attempt at an outright takeover by Eefrit from EVE Financial Services four years ago, Tornsoul has managed to keep control of one of the largest companies in New Eden, and even show a profit. According to CEO Tornsoul, there was some doubt when she first came up with the idea, but it soon caught on and there are now a number of competitors, though many others have closed up shop following internal thefts and embezzlement. After five successful years of operation, BIG Merchant Bank of EVE remains in business, offering large-scale ISK loans with interest rates of 1 – 2% a week on secured collateral.

Heathen Achievement Award Winners Announced – news from EvE
May 7th
Kasrasi, Derelik – On 27.04.113, capsuleer Kazzzi of Heathen Legion announced the winner of the Heathen Achievement Award as Bahamut420.
The competition received attention from Minmatar loyalists, especially followers of winner Bahamut420, who has since been stressing his efforts and achievements against the Amarr. Hans Jagerblitzen of Autocannons Anonymous explained: “No Minmatar warrior has spent more time covered in blood, sweat, and pod-goo than Bahamut420. He without a doubt deserves this award.”
In an interview, Bahamut stated that although he didn’t send in an entry himself, he was “honoured” to see so many of his friends and war targets voted for him and believes that the Heathen Achievement Award shows their enemies that they will “work together to defeat them”.
He has received his prize, a Revelation class dreadnought and already jumped it into the warzone. He said: “All of my ships are used for battle. The Revelation will destroy things with fire.” Lastly, he also mentioned that he would like to thank Kazzzi and Ushra’Khan for the “lovely” gift.
Capsuleer Vaari, an amarr loyalist who came in second, did not even know his name had been mentioned as a potential winner until he was contacted for an interview and made it clear that he More >
E-UNI Changes Policy from NRDS to NBSI – news from EvE
Apr 26th
Aldrat, Metropolis – Eve University [E-UNI], the well-known training corporation for new capsuleers, have changed their Rules of Engagement policy from NRDS [Not Red Don’t Shoot] to NBSI [Not Blue Shoot It] in null-sec space and wormholes.
CEO Kelduum Revaan said: “The change is something we have wanted to make for some time as flying NRDS in null-sec is unfortunately quite uncommon, and puts our members at a significant disadvantage when encountering neutrals in null-sec and w-space. So in a recent review of our Rules of Engagement we came to the conclusion that we now have sufficient standings set to deal with the majority of potential issues.”
There has apparently been a number of minor incidents during the transition period, but according to Revaan, the number of training fleets heading into null-sec and wormhole space have increased, and Eve University looks forward to having many more classes on these topics in the future.
Revaan confirmed that members are still not authorised to fire on haulers, mining barges or other non-combat vessels, and the corporation retains an open Non-aggression pact policy, so any group, regardless of previous conflicts with E-UNI may request blue standings.
