Dec 12th
And now, for the Christmas season, we get the first part of a story about a soldier and a religious scholar, walking through the desert under sun and dark stars, looking for a strange treasure. This meditation on religion and belief takes place in times of EVE past, and is a prequel of sorts to the Black Mountain series.
“The Book of Emptiness, Part I” is a new EVE Chronicle written by CCP Abraxas. Published every other Monday, Chronicles are intended to examine the various aspects of life in EVE. The entire list is contained here, and a comment thread for this particular story may be found here.
IT Alliance Saves Unfinished Titan in C3N-3S – news from EvE
Dec 12th
C3N-3S, On 12.12.112 over 1,500 pilots engaged in battle over a starbase that had become a regional target of opportunity. The starbase is the home of a titan construction project run by IT Alliance.
Titan construction takes months and requires a starbase to carry out the assembly operations. The starbase in C3N-3S is currently building a titan for Lady Scarlet and was put into reinforced mode earlier this week.
IT Alliance recalled much of their capital fleet from Catch to defend the starbase.
The battle involved more than 1,500 capsuleer; 600 of them IT Alliance. The opposition force of about 900 pilots was an “opportunity alliance” including the Deklein Coalition, Red Overlord and Against All Authorities.
IT Alliance fielded about 90 logistics carrier along with 10 titans and 30 motherships.
Due to the cynosural jamming in effect in C3N-3S, the opposition fleet chose to bring a fleet of Maelstroms and Drakes.
As the Maelstrom fleet focused on the tower trying to out damage the IT Alliance carriers repairing it, the IT capital fleet slowly knocked them down.
When the battle finally ended, the starbase was still standing and it appears the unfinished titan is safe.

Sansha Uplinks Completed in Anyed – news from EvE
Dec 12th
Anyed, Genesis – Late last week, over 600 capsuleers from across New Eden gathered in Anyed to repel a Sansha incursion but contrary to earlier reports of a total victory for capsuleer defenders of the system, Nation completed its own objectives, with Sansha commanders in the system uplinking unknown data to an unknown source.
DutchGunner, a member of Onorata Societa who was in the system during the attempted attack, said “The forces have all been destroyed, including the capital assets that have been deployed by Sansha forces.”
The Sansha have shown in previous attacks, however, that their own lives are little valued compared to campaign objectives, as illustrated by their common practice of leaving one leader behind in a capital ship to safeguard a withdrawal. It has also been shown that their cloning methods, or equivalent thereof, are rapid, mobile and highly accurate, enabling a True Slave or True Citizen to return fully oriented to the battlefield within minutes of their first demise if a vessel can be procured. Many Nation pilots and troopers have been quoted as saying, “There is no death in Nation.”

Amarr Loyalists Push into Minmatar Territory in Metropolis – news from EvE
Dec 11th
Floseswin, Metropolis - Recent events have seen Amarr Empire corporations, including long-time loyalists 1st Praetorian Guard [1PG] push forward to “reclaim” systems in the Minmatar Republic for the Empire.
Borakh Tieberius of 1PG said that by following “the vision” of Legatus Gangleri, his corporation has focused mainly on the Aset cluster in Metropolis which has seen them capture systems such as Floseswin, Turnur and Isbrabata.
“The vision is about vigilance, dedication, cooperation, and of course, faith.” It does not include the idea of unity with the full forces of the 24th Imperial Crusade, however, following controversy over the last year about the involvement of pirate forces in the militia and the past habit of many militia corporations of raiding into space controlled by CVA, one of the older groups to profess loyalty to the Amarr Empire. Borakh contnued by saying “Allies is dangerous word” and stating that instead, 1PG work closely with Knighthood of the Merciful Crown and Amarrian Retribution.
Others who fight for the Amarr Empire appear to care little for faith and reclamation, however. Racnotonas, of The Imperial Fedaykin, claims that they fight the Minmatar for “the sake of fighting”, claiming it is out of “boredom.”

Raven State Issue Ship to be Auctioned – news from EvE
Dec 8th
Jita, THE FORGE – Capsuleer F90OEX is currently holding an auction that may end with one of the largest sums ever paid in a single transaction.
F90OEX is auctioning a Raven State Issue currently in his possession. Only four of these hulls were ever built; the ships were awarded to the Band of Brothers alliance as grand prize for winning the 3rd Alliance Tournament held roughly four years ago.
As he wrote in his opening post on GalNet, F90OEX believes it to be unlikely that a Raven State Issue will ever again be sold and that in addition to the ship (including the original fitting), he would possibly be inclined to gift the highest bidder with “a secure can of 90+ Estamel only [modules]“, which he believes to be “worth another 300[billion]” and for which he would not have any more use after the ship was sold.
As for the motivation of potential bidders, capsuleer Tyler, who recently bid 230 billion ISK, was available for an early comment, explaining that his deciding factor for placing the bid was just “to be able to say I have owned the ship”. Should he win the auction, he claims he might put it back up for sale later, More >
More Than 400 Titans Recorded in New Eden – news from EvE
Dec 8th
Yulai, Genesis – More than 400 titans are currently operating in New Eden, according to a list maintained by Cyrus Doul of Systematic Chaos. While this number alone seems large, it is likely that the actual number of operational titans is significantly greater due to the care taken in deploying the vessels and the number used solely for logistical tasks.
A single titan takes approximately one month to build and costs approximately 35 billion ISK in raw materials for the hull alone. When the ships first became available, constructing one was often a project undertaken by a whole alliance, and wars were fought in order to put down the ships before they could even be launched.
The first titan, CYVOK’s Avatar, belonging to CYVOK of Ascendant Frontier, was unveiled more than four years ago, almost a year after titan blueprints were released. Many more followed and their number has grown rapidly over the years.
Doul’s list now shows 402 publically-known titans with many alliances owning far more than one; IT alliance is said to have about 68 titans at their disposal and Morsus Mihi has an alleged total of 32.
Doul’s list, however, might not cover all titans currently in existence. More >
Network Launched to Relay Nation Assault Intelligence – news from EvE
Dec 6th
Oruse, Solitude – A corporation named The Roaches have created a communication channel for pilots to transmit and gather intelligence regarding Sansha’s Nation invasions.
The channel, named “SANSHA RETALIATION” was launched at the start of this week and has since grown in popularity among those who are fighting against the Sansha Nation forces.
Deathforu, a member of The Roaches, explained what the channel meant to him. “This channel represents some of the best corps in [New Eden]. I see a lot of friendships and more future joint ops coming from this.”
The intelligence channel, having only been launched this week, has yet to prove itself as a useful source of information, which was reflected in one capsuleer’s comment, “I see potential, we’re not there yet, but there is potential.”
The “SANSHA RETALIATION” channel joins older intel channels sych as SYNEPublic and the regional intelligence channels which were founded to avoid politically-difficult situations between hostile fleets during incursions: Falanx (Gallente Federation), Mikeb Temple (Amarr Empire), Heiian College (Caldari State) and RSDI (Minmatar Republic).

Cold Fusion Syndicate Disband – news from EvE
Dec 5th
Deltole, Sinq Laison – Cold Fusion Syndicate [CFS] has officially disbanded after more than 3 years as a successful high security industrial alliance.
Former Vice President of CFS, Aelana Anais, said a major factor in the decision to disband was that the tech 1 ship market in the region is “a mess right now” and it had become “incresingly difficult to fund and maintain the alliance” as they had relied heavily on their tech 1 ship building business
She also suggested that corporations and alliances living in high security space will always have a problem with “griefer corporations” moving into their regions. She felt this also contributed to CFS disbanding as there was a “marked increase of griefer activity and wardec corps” in the Sinq Laison region.
The decision to disband, Aelana revealed, was made more difficult by the “very tight community” they had established within the alliance. The community was also the reason that Aelana gave as CFS lasting so long, claiming that former members have stayed in touch despite parting ways.
The community seems to have created a lasting memory among the former members, with former senior member of management in CFS, Vaerla Myshtana exclaiming: “In the darkness of Hulkageddon… More >
