EverQuest II: Destiny of Velious Delayed
Jan 14th
Sony Online Entertainment and the Everquest II team have announced that the Destiny of Velious expansion pack has been delayed. Originally slated for release on February 8th, the expansion has been rescheduled for February 22nd due to beta player feedback. The good news is that more closed beta testers will be added in the very near future.
As you know, we’ve been working hard on the “Destiny of Velious” expansion pack. It was originally scheduled for release on Feb 8th, but after getting feedback from players, spending time playing the game internally, and discussing ways to make things better, we’ve decided to move the release date back to Feb 22nd instead.
Feb 22nd gives us another couple of weeks for polish, tuning, and a honing of the fun factor for the expansion. We think the wait will be well worthwhile.
Check EverQuest2.com for the announcement on pre-order dates! And also stay tuned for an announcement about a raft of cool events coming out in the week after DoV becomes available!
On a side note, we’ll be adding another batch of players into the Closed Beta on Jan 24th, so if you put in an application and haven’t been accepted yet, don’t give up yet. More >

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that Fortune League has opened on Facebook. Fortune League allows players to engage with Everquest II in "snackable" sessions and introduces new players to the game via the Facebook game application. “Fortune League invites players to experience a casual strategy game on Facebook based on the world of EverQuest II while offering the opportunity to reap in-game rewards,” said Dave Georgeson, producer of EverQuest II. “It’s a great way for Facebook users to play a casual game with exciting quests, and even provides the ability to share achievements with their Facebook friends.”
Fortune League is a collaborative effort between SOE’s San Diego studio and Los Angeles-based Fastpoint Games. The social media strategy game brings players the lore and adventure of EQII in real time by integrating performance data such as damages, deaths and healings directly from the MMO environment and utilizes it to form Hero Stats. Fortune League also rewards players’ abilities to assess quests, hero performance, situational threats and other players’ actions in a live trade market and compensates leaders with points, cosmetic upgrades and prizes that More >

EverQuest II: Destiny of Velious Beta Coming Soon
Dec 21st
In a short post on the official forums, Everquest II producer Dave Georgeson announced that Destiny of Velious, the upcoming expansion for EQII, is nearing its closed beta phase of development. Georgeson told readers that Destiny of Velious is currently in the 'friends and family' in-house beta phase but will shortly enter closed beta.
Yup. That's right. "Destiny of Velious" is almost ready for beta testing! We're going into internal "Friends and Family" mode today and then we'll start authorizing players for Closed Beta testing when we come back in 2011. So that's great news. (TOFS, here I come!)
Additionally, we're doing two other cool things right before the end of the year.
1) From the 24th to the 27th of December, any Station Cash cards redeemed will be doubled in effect. This is our "Double Station Cash Stocking Stuffer" program if you see it mentioned elsewhere.
2) Also, we're doing Double XP Days from Dec 27th (monday) to Dec 30th (thursday). Most of you will be shocked to hear that we're doing Double XP not actually on one of the holidays and on weekdays instead of weekends. Don't fall down in shock.
So in summary: Velious beta soon, a bonus for stocking stuffers, and Double More >
EverQuest II: Frostfell Has Descended Upon Norrath!
Dec 19th
The folks over at Sony Online Entertainment have announced a slew of Holiday Content for their games. Third on the list, Everquest and Everquest II are currently celebrating the Norrath tradition of Frostfell!
EverQuest®: The annual Frostfell event will be celebrated throughout Norrath through Jan. 8, 2011. For years, Frostfell celebrations have been spoiled by thievery and crisis and this year, Santug Claugg is suffering a horrible melancholy and wants to cancel the holiday festivities. Players must help him feel like himself again by participating in Operation: Jolliness and Gathering Holiday Cheer.
EverQuest® II: Frostfell, the annual Norrathian festival of kinship, feasting and giving, returns to EverQuest II. Festive decorations can be found all around, including New Halas, where Gigglebigger goblins abound. Players who want to jump right into the holiday spirit should enter the Frostfell Wonderland Village through one of the various Magic Closets. Santa Glug is back with 13 tradable gifts and Gixen, one of Santa Glug’s helpers in Enchanted Lands, is exchanging odd gift-boxes and toys for Frozen Tokens of E’ci.
