EVE Launcher, corrupted downloads and repair tool update – news from EvE
Mar 14th
As of 01:40 GMT (14th March) we released a new Launcher (Version 1.09) and a new repair tool to resolve some issues that players have been experiencing during the initial deployment of Crucible 1.5.
Those of you experiencing issues with the Launcher or updating the game, please follow these steps:
1. Reboot the computer.2. Navigate to the EVE client install folder.3. Run the Repair tool until it finshes.4. Run eve.exe from the same folder
We ask people to reboot their computer to make sure that there are no locked files or other processes running while running the repair tool. This would otherwise interfere with the repair tool and prevent the client from updating.
If you have problems due to corrupted downloaded data, please consult this forum thread for a workaround.

Workaround for players experiencing problems with the EVE Launcher – news from EvE
Mar 14th
Cyrillic characters in the EVE install path name cause the EVE Launcher to throw an error and not continue with patching the client. We are working hard on resolving this issue and will publish an update with instructions once it is out.
There is currently a workaround that people can use in the meantime:
A) Move the EVE client to a folder which does not contain any Cyrillic characters in the path name.
B) Start the repair tool and let it run, go into the client folders bin directory and start ExeFile.exe.
The Buddy Program: An extended trial and cool new rookie ships – news from EvE
Mar 14th
Crucible 1.5 has gone live, and it has brought with it a set of sleek redesigned rookie ships, giving new players to EVE about the coolest looking starter gear in MMOs. Players looking to bring a friend into the EVE universe get to see their buddies sporting some neat new ships and, with the Buddy Program, can set them up with an extended 21-Day Trial. Even better, if the buddy subscribes, the player that invited them gets 30 days of game time added to their account. Bring a new ally (or adversary) into EVE Online with the EVE Online Buddy Program.

EVE Launcher and users with ESET security – news from EvE
Mar 14th
We have found a solution for some people who are getting corrupted downloaded data. The problem is caused by an antivirus/firewall called ESET Smart Security.
Players are asked to try to disable the protocol content filtering:
· Open the main window for ESET
· Press F5 to open the Advanced Setup Window
· From the Advanced Setup tree, click Personal firewall, Protocol filtering (for ESET Smart Security) or Antivirus and antispyware, Protocol filtering (for ESET NOD32 Antivirus).
· Untick the checkbox “Enable application protocol content filtering”
· Download the latest repair tool: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/345/repair.exe
· Drop the repair.exe into the EVE client folder.
· Run repair.exe
This will update your game client, take you to the latest version and give you a working version of the Launcher.
If this resolves your problem, please contact the customer support for ESET and ask them send out an update to the protocol filtering or ask that they contact CCP Games via email security@ccpgames.com so that we can resolve this issue together.

Surveyvor: The overview episode! – news from EvE
Mar 8th
In Crucible 1.2, Team Gridlock introduced changes to the overview. The changes were mainly focused on improving client performance but also included changes to the behavior of the overview. One behavioral change worth mentioning was overview sorting pausing when the overview is moused over, with the intention of making it easier to grab a target while in a combat situation (when you would normally have loads of objects in the overview jumping up and down).
To gauge how well these improvements have hit home with you, we would appreciate it if you jumped to this survey and shared your thoughts with us.
Thanks a bunchies!- TomB and Team Gridlock
DED Report: Red vs. Blue Sees Unprecedented Growth – news from EvE
Mar 8th
The long running capsuleer organisation Red vs. Blue has over the past week seen unprecedented growth, increasing in membership by over a third. This news has been met with enthusiasm by the industrialists of their home region of Lonetrek, where demand for ships, modules and ammunition is at an all-time high. DED records for February show the organisation to be behind more ship losses within New Eden than any other, destroying 10,500 vessels that month alone.
Red Vs. Blue is dedicated to maintaining a non-political atmosphere with no entry requirements for interested capsuleers, and is widely considered to be one of the most efficient ways for aspiring pilots to gain combat experience. These policies, along with their relatively free-for-all system based largely on smaller and inexpensive vessels have seen increasing numbers of capsuleers joining.
