Guild Wars 2: Living Story Content Coming to Fractals
Jun 18th
Guild Wars 2 players will be happy to hear that ArenaNet will be adding elements of the Living Story to fractals. According to forum posts by Colin Johanson, fractals are "perfect places for this kind of 'historical' experience.
In the future, you’ll see certain types of content that was part of larger story experiences be updated to work within the fractals dungeon and return there where it makes sense to do so. Of course, the specific rewards and achievements will not return since those are intended to be completed as the story unfolds, but the content itself will be used to expand out our fractals experience and serve as a place to continue to experience great (and strange) moments in history.

Guild Wars 2: Changing WvW
Jun 16th
ArenaNet has big changes in store for the Guild Wars 2 World versus World system in the coming weeks and months. In today's column, we take a look at a few of the already-announced changes and offer our analysis. Let us know what you think in the comments.
I’ve played my fair share of WvW, so I know how some of the strategies are planned and executed. Some members of my guild however don’t see the strategic moves that players and commanders make. One of my guildies asked, and I quote, “So you just move along with a herd running past enemies hoping you hit someone?” All they could see was the large masses of players running from tower to tower. WvW veterans know these groups as zergs.

Guild Wars 2: The Dragon Bash
Jun 9th
Last week, ArenaNet announced the next Guild Wars 2 event in the form of Dragon Bash. We managed to grab some time with the dev team to check out the new content. See what we discovered and our inside impressions. Head to the comments to continue the discussion.
The Dragon Bash is way different. While the Dragon Festival was about celebration, the Dragon Bash feels more like a distraction for the people of Tyria. It really focuses on citizens bashing and taking out their anger in some way or another. Think about it, the fair citizens of the world have been attacked by the undead and dragons. Many have even lost their homes. I don’t know about you, but if I lived in Tyria, I would probably have enough rage and anger to turn into the Hulk. While the Dragon Bash wasn’t created to unite an empire, I still think it’s just what the people of Tyria need at this point.

Guild Wars 2: The Future of WvW
Jun 5th
The Guild Wars 2 blog has been updated with a post by Devon Carver that lays out the details on changes coming in the future for the World vs World system. The team is looking to make 'roles' in WvW more meaningful, siege weapons better utilized and to add more variety to the experience.
Something that has developed naturally over time and that we would like to encourage is the definition of roles within WvW. Everyone has likely seen a commander laying out battle plans and then subsequently seen that one thief mucking up those plans. It’s our goal to introduce more systems that encourage play within a wide variety of roles, not just those two. Scouts, siege masters, and defenders are only a sampling of the roles we intend to add to. We think that these are all a vital part of the success of any server in WvW, so we want to reward players who do these tasks so that they feel like their time is properly valued.

Guild Wars 2: MMORPG.com and Mist League Join Forces
Jun 4th
After the success of our inaugural Invitational Tournament for Guild Wars 2, we've been looking for a way to increase our participation in the eSports scene that's quickly building with ArenaNet's game. With that in mind, we've partnered up with the all new Mist League: the first fan-driven world-wide league for competitive PVP in Guild Wars 2. With the massive help of ArenaNet and the community of GW2, we look forward to what the future holds.
What does this mean for the short term? MistLeague.com will become a part of the MMORPG.com network right alongside RTSGuru and FPSGuru, and the two of our sites will partner on content (interviews, streams, news, etc), while most all of the more specific content for GW2 related items will be hosted at MistLeague.com (guides, streams, tournaments, rankings, sPVP forums and so much more).
In the long-term, our goal is to help make Mist League the premiere website for all things GW2 PVP, and more importantly: GW2 eSports. Tournaments with larger prize pools, open to anyone who can qualify, are just around the corner. We truly cannot wait to see what you think of what Mist League and MMORPG.com are putting together, and we hope you'll join us More >
Guild Wars 2: Dragon Bashing in Real Life with Knight Realms
Jun 2nd
To help get the word out about the upcoming Guild Wars 2 event: Dragon Bash, ArenaNet sent us at MMORPG.com a hefty purple and green dragon pinata to well… bash. Ever the resourceful geeks, we caught up with the LARP group Knight Realms to make sure the bashing went well. And of course, we filmed it for you all to see. It's pretty epic… but maybe only because of the song.
Be sure to watch the incredible display for some looks at what to expect in the upcoming Guild Wars 2 content update: Dragon Bash!
Guild Wars 2: Dragon Bash Celebration Detailed
Jun 2nd
ArenaNet has revealed new information about the next Guild Wars 2 in-game event set to arrive on June 11th. Called "Dragon Bash", the celebration will feature some great activities that will yield some exclusive prizes to participants. Dragon Bash allows citizens to celebrate yet another year of survival in the harsh world ruled by the Elder Dragons.
Players can earn two sets of dragon wings to spruce up their look as well as Dragon Jade weapon skins over the course of the event. A third item can be earned, a helm called the Horns of the Dragon, simply by watching the in-game fireworks display between June 14-17.
For those of a more competitive nature, there will be Moa races, a chance to play Dragon Ball, and dragon-shaped pinatas to batter.
Lastly, on June 18th, Lion's Arch citizens join together for Lighting Ceremony where torching dragon-shaped effigies is the name of the game.
All of the Dragon Bash details can be found on the Guild Wars 2 site.
Guild Wars 2: Team Sleepy’s Cutie on GW2 eSports
Jun 1st
MMORPG.com recently held an invitational tournament for Guild Wars 2 PvP teams. Team Sleepy (now a part of Absolute Legends) rocked the event and took first place. We spoke with Hans “SupCutie” Onsum about the tournament. See what he had to say before leaving your thoughts in the comments.
MMORPG: What do you think are the strengths of GW2's PVP when compared to GW1? Its weaknesses?
SupCutie: I think GW2 is much more fluid – casting while moving, dodge rolling, JUMPING! GW2 Also has less skills to balance than GW1. I think GW2's weakness compared to GW1 is that PVP is not balanced separately from PVE. Now this doesn't necessarily mean balance will intrinsically be worse, just that it will be harder relative to GW1.
