Game Update – Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 4:00 am Pacific – Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

All Vanguard servers will be brought down Wednesday morning, 08/10/11 at 4:00 am Pacific, for updating. The estimated downtime is six hours.
Vanguard Bug Fix Update Release Notes Adventuring- Ichtakhta NPC’s that are not quest NPCs have had their experience enabled.
- Meta-Mind: Energy regeneration effect now appears on the regeneration section of the stat tab.
- Union of Thought: Energy regeneration effect now appears on the regeneration section of the stat tab.
- The Gormal the Gargantuan event can now be run multiple times with out a server reset.
- Warrior Order all three abilities can now be toggled as needed.
- Touch of Karax proc on The Bludgeoner now deals damage.
- Ini-herat the Attendant now offers Sacred Solvent to allow for additional attachments to be removed without being destroyed.
- Inner Light with Haelifur disciple armor has been fixed to trigger the heal proc correctly.
- Corrected a targeting issue with Psionicist Pantheon Tier three armor five piece bonus.
- Fixed an issue with the Shrine of Zephyr quest where you could repeatedly get a shard by abandoning and reaccepting the quest.
- The MEST quest, “Arcane Research” now correctly requires the “Dark Essence of Magic”.

On Sunday July 31st from 1200-1600 EST(GMT-5) Twightlyte Song will be hosting another Boat Race and Fishing contest on Telon. We are back with the contest on the last Sunday of each month untill further notice.

City of Heroes: SDCC ’11: Beam Gun and Street Justice Powersets Unveiled

The news has already come out of SDCC from fans who were in attendance for some new information coming out of City of Heroes. Fan and forum poster, Archon Helios, has detailed everything they've seen out of SDCC for City of Heroes thus far. Check it out!
Archon here in San Diego after coming home and relaxing from preview night of Comic-Con. Out of everything there, I spent most of my time playing and trying out the new Freedom version of the game. I enjoyed it so much I couldn't help but share what I've found and collect more data as Comic-con goes on.
First we'll start with what everyone is most interested in. The new powerS. That's right, plural. I didn't try out Time Manipulation, but I did play with the other two sets, Beam Gun and Street Justice.
Beam Gun is a single target focused power set that acts as a primary for Blasters and Corrupters and secondary for Defenders. The damage numbers look low, but the set relies on a special debuff that makes Beam Gun powers deal significantly more damage, somewhat similarly to Sonic Attacks.
