’Sillirion’ on current Update features, more PVP content before Expansion!
Mar 17th

Back from GDC and a quick note today to mention something that you will see coming to the test server as part of the 1.07 update over the next few days.
As I have mentioned several times over the last few weeks while we had really wanted to get the new PVP feature, the Shrines of Bori, out onto the live servers prior to the expansion we hadn’t managed to achieve that, and the schedules hadn’t quite matched up. That resulted in us having to decide to release it instead immediately after the expansion.
This is something we have thought long and hard about over the last few weeks.
Given the passionate support for this feature in addition to our own opinion that we really did want to see this feature released if at all possible, we have moved some things around internally (and providing the final testing goes ok) and we do now intend to release this feature with the 1.07 update over the next few weeks.
It is important to stress that this has been the result of some great extra effort put in by the team and will not effect the schedule of the expansion. When we saw the More >
MrCozzano’s Videoguide to Assassin, post-1.06!
Mar 16th
An Italian Assassin aficionado, MrCozzano has youtubed first part of his video guide to a post-1.6 Assassin. While not as in-depth and informative as in-depth analyses found at Slith’s Hideout, this is nonetheless a nice basic set of infos for those who return to the game and wish to try Toxin-endowed swift killer class after its recent major revamp.
The guide includes cutesy processing effects, clear chapter distinctions and very easy to follow tips. Judging by the post-processing elements of the guide, the videos were made by a semi-professional – even if the factual content is not very compelling and language used is, erm, ’teh lolz’ at times.
Currently it’s very basic stuff – some infos on how to use strafing in PVP and what types of builds are more advantageous than others, plus some tips on Toxin mechanics usage. Hopefully, the later additions in the Advanced section will make it a bit more in-depth, showing (as Author promises at the moment) tac’s allowing one to bring down various classes in PVP and deliver peak performance in various scenarios in PVE.

Guild Rankings Are Up!
We’re continuing to show the weekly renown rankings from CROM, the biggest PVE General server in AOC and provide a brief commentary on the guilds’ progress/regress. You can also check numerical stats for current week globally at the official AOC Online Guild Rankings site, http://guilds.ageofconan.com/
Weekly Summary
The 6th week of Renown Rankings marked a struggle to retain 1st spots by the previous “ranking owners”, Band of Brothers, SolidLine and Tainted Souls. Several guilds tried assaulting their top 3 spots in Totals, Valor and Artistry – and succeeded in case of PVE and Crafting, but were unable to dethrone the first three as far as total count goes.
Numbers Speak
Objective amount of Valor has dropped a bit for the top guilds and quite severely for others. This marks a drop in PVE activity that draws most Valor points, i.e. running Instances and doing quests. On the other hand, this also means that there’s a bit more Raiding going on, which is always a nice thing for a general PVE server. Speaking of which, lower Glory numbers (PVP activity) were dreadfully low this week, probably signifying guilds’ ultimate dissatisfaction with a previously More >
