The Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures team have released the May version of the Monthly Development Update amid the two major announcements made last week; AoC's new Free to Play option and the new adventure pack. Check out what they have to say, now that May is almost over.
Fall Update – The Savage Coast of Turan
This update will feature a new area for players to explore along the coast of the Vilayet Sea, including new raid content, new solo and team dungeons, a new ACG as well as the overland content. There will be a lot of great content to enjoy in the adventure pack. The city of Ardashir provides a brilliantly epic backdrop against which you will discover a twisting tale of intrigue, betrayal, blood sacrifice and one of the foes that came closest to killing Conan himself!

Monatliches Entwicklungsupdate – Mai 2011
Dieses Update zu schreiben, war sowohl aufregend als auch ein wenig redundant, weil wir in dieser Woche ja bereits zwei größere Ankündigungen gemacht haben. Die größte Neuigkeit ist natürlich das Erscheinen des Spiels mit einer umfassenden Free-to-Play-Option, als Age of Conan: Unrated, und die Ankündigung der Abenteuersammlung ’Die stürmische Küste von Turan’. Das bedeutet, dass wir endlich darüber reden können, wie das alles in den Zeitplan eingegliedert wird.
Wir haben natürlich hinter den Kulissen schon geraume Zeit an beiden Projekten gearbeitet, weshalb wir froh sind, endlich zu erklären, wie der Ablauf aussehen wird und wie alles zusammenpasst.
Der ZeitplanSehen wir uns also den Zeitplan für die Inhalte einmal an! Wir beginnen mit einer kurzen Zusammenfassung der kürzlich erschienenen Updates. Viele informieren sich erst jetzt wegen der Ankündigung über das Spiel, daher hielten wir es für sinnvoll, sowohl die letzten als auch die zukünftigen Veränderungen kurz Revue passieren zu lassen …

I owned and operated Enchanted Horizons which put out Portinium in the play by mail field between 1989 to 1995. Portinium won best of show at Andcon in 1992 & 1993. Also was reviewed by the editor of Computer Game Review in the January Issue 1993. I am currently retired. I am also over 50 and one of the old school gamers in Age of Conan.
My Guild that i started in Aug 2009, is Equinox Warriors. Aluna is my 80 level Demo and Guild Leader of Equinox Warriors. Jawnta is my 80 level Conqueror and first character. He was created May 21st, 2008. I also have a 80 pom named Jawn.

Monthly Development Update – May 2011
Writing this particular update felt both exciting and a little redundant given the two major announcements that have gone out already this week.
The major news of course is the launch of the game with a strong free to play option, as Age of Conan: Unrated, and the announcement of the adventure pack – The Savage Coast of Turan. This means that we can finally start to talk about where it all fits into things in terms of the schedule.
We have obviously been working on both those things for a while behind the scenes so it is great to now be able to explain where this will sit in the schedule and how everything will fit together.

Eine Revolution steht uns bevor, 3 Jahre Age of Conan sind vorbei und der CROMCAST ist immer noch kein bisschen leise!
Wir sind jetzt schon 3 Jahre gemeinsam in der Welt des hyborischen Zeitalters unterwegs und der CROMCAST begleitet uns schon seit 2 davon. Dieses Jahr hat sich ein neuer Moderator dazu gesellt und am Horizont erwartet uns alle Age of Conan: Unrated. Deshalb steht dieser CROMCAST ganz im Zeichen des Gewesenen und des Kommenden. Wir freuen uns ankündigen zu können, dass unser preisgekröntes MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures diesen Sommer eine digitale Neuveröffentlichung unter dem Namen “Age of Conan: Unrated” erleben wird. Age of Conan wird dadurch seine Position als erotischstes und wildestes MMO der Welt festigen und es durch die Einführung eines Hybrid-Geschäftsmodells allen ermöglichen, die weiten Länder des hyborischen Zeitalters sowohl als Gratis-Spieler, als auch als Premium-Abonnent, mit Zugang zu erweiterten Inhalten, zu bereisen.

Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures: Hybrid Revenue Model Adopted

Funcom has announced that it will premier a new hybrid F2P/premium revenue model for Age of Conan beginning this summer. In addition, a new digital edition will debut called "Age of Conan: Unrated". Funcom has published both a general FAQ about the move as well as a comparison chart that highlights the differences between the free and paid versions.
‘Age of Conan’ has always been a Mature gaming experience, but going Unrated gives the development team freedom to stay even more true to the original works of Conan author Robert E. Howard, and use even more of the barbaric, brutal and sexy setting that is Howard's Hyboria. Funcom is already in the process of developing new locations, monsters, equipment and storylines for ‘Age of Conan: Unrated’. This includes the movie tie-in adventure pack announced yesterday, that will introduce content and characters from the upcoming ‘Conan the Barbarian’ movie.
