ArcheAge: Will E3 Deliver?
Jun 11th
This week's E3 is in full swing and fans of ArcheAge are hopeful that new information will be revealed by Trion Worlds, the Western publisher of the game. At the same time, there is a bit of trepidation as well. In our latest column, we take a look at why players have a mixed bag of emotions roiling inside. Read on and then leave your thoughts in the comments.
I’m really hoping Trion Worlds will provide those interested in ArcheAge with an in-depth look once E3 goes into full swing. At the same time, I’m a bit terrified because, as stated in an earlier piece by Garrett Fuller, E3 will be the first place anyone will really get a look at a western build of ArcheAge.
Since I’m too far away from E3, and I’ll likely wait for the MMORPG.com report on ArcheAge at E3 as well, I’m in the same boat you’re in. That said, I thought it’d be important to go over some nuances that will likely need to be addressed at E3 proper or as soon as E3 closes and media outlets have written about the game.

News on D3 and Path of Exile
Jun 11th
Blizzard revealed this week that Diablo III will be coming to the XBox 360 on September 3rd along with the previously announced PS3 release. Path of Exile gave all players a free passive skill reset with patch 0.11.0 this week and officially started its first ever four month long Anarchy and Onslaught leagues.
Diablo III’s upcoming console release was originally announced to be for the PS3 and PS4, but this week Blizzard confirmed that it will also be coming to the XBox 360. Both versions feature four-player offline co-op modes and are scheduled for release on September 3rd 2013. The console versions of the game are surprisingly already far enough long in development for hands-on demonstrations and will be set up for attendees tomorrow at E3.
Path of Exile’s four-month-long Anarchy and Onslaught leagues have now officially started, offering a list of difficult challenges and an exclusive t-shirt reward for anyone who can complete them. This is the first long-term league for Path of Exile and its success may lead to further leagues similar to Diablo II‘s twice-yearly ladder reset. Patch 0.11.0 was also successfully deployed this week, granting all players a once-only full passive ability reset. If you’re thinking of holding More >

EverQuest Next: What We Want to Know About EQNext
Jun 9th
Sony Online Entertainment is getting ready to blow the lid off of EverQuest Next during this summer's SOE Live in August. Thinking about EQN, we came up with several things we really want to know about the game. Check out our thoughts before heading to the comments to tell us what you'd like to know about EQN.
This summer should be nothing short of a revelation when SOE unveils their big plans for the EverQuest franchise's third major installment: EverQuest Next. We know it will be a sandbox as the images below tweeted by John Smedley imply, and we know that visually, it'll rival what we've seen with Planetside 2 because they use the same Lightforge Engine. We know that SOE has partnered up with Namaste Entertainment to use Storybricks in some way shape or form… And that's about it. I mean of course we know it'll take place in Norrath and have huge menacing armor, but that was probably a given. Really, there's very little we truly know so far about EverQuest Next. So what I'd like to do this week is shine a little light on three things we want to find out about the evolution of Norrath, whether it's before More >
Scarlet Blade: A Shameful & Degrading Experience
Jun 9th
Scarlet Blade developers thought to set the MMO world afire with their "mature themed" game. We have carefully played Scarlet Blade to offer a fair review. See what we discovered before leaving your thoughts in the comments.
At its grassroots, MMORPGs, are huge online open worlds, virtual realities in which we escape to, to essentially play out another life. Along the way we make friends, foes, hell some of us even find partners. But what an MMO shouldn’t be, is a shameful and downright degrading experience. Japanese and Korean gaming has often been an affair of anime like characters, colorful worlds and more than often, scantily clad characters. Take a look back at Tera, some of the games races were altered so the game didn’t look so perverse. Aeria Games latest foray into the MMORPG market, Scarlet Blade, is the complete opposite of this. Being approached to review this game was something I wasn’t expecting and what I experienced in this game was the aforementioned degrading and shameful experience. With that said, let’s move on to the final review.

Eudemons Online: Dawn of Romance Expansion Coming in July
Jun 9th
Eudemons Online players with a familial bent will be interested to hear about the Dawn of Romance expansion coming to the game in July. Players will be able to become parents of a child that, according to literature we've received, be incredibly powerful in battle and questing.
In this brand-new expansion, you can have a baby with your spouse. The baby is different from other Eudemons. They are easy to compose and revive, and you can even send them to school and develop their special talents. The higher the talent of the baby, the stronger they will be! You can even appoint them as a Knight, ready to aid in your battles! They will add Battle Points and grow your own power in the larger arenas, like the Class PK Tournament, Family war and Legion War!
Check out the Eudemons Online site.
Path of Exile: New Supporter Packs Released
Jun 9th
Grinding Gears has announced a collaborative effort with Jinx to bring Path of Exile users new supporter packs from which to choose. The team solicited input from the community to create new packs for players who have only recently arrived to the game.
The most important change is that J!NX is producing our physical merchandise! The collaboration allows us to offer exciting new physical merchandise that we can't produce ourselves, such as a keychain based on the Chaos Orb currency item. We were also able to put T-Shirts in the first of the shipped packs, rather than at the $250 tier like last time. We're expecting that shipping will be underway in early August!

Guild Wars 2 Authorized Shoutcaster Program
Jun 7th
According to ArenaNet, the introduction of Custom Arenas and Spectator Mode to Guild Wars 2 has resulted in a surge of new tournaments, which naturally has been accompanied by a surge in people shouting about those tournaments. ArenaNet hopes to keep the shouts coming with the introduction of its Authorized Shoutcaster Program.
Under the new program, Authorized Shoutcasters will receive notifications when highly rated teams square off against one another. Those shoutcasters can then jump into the match and stream the content live to what we can assume is a cheering throng of e-sports/Guild Wars fanatics. Streams will be delayed to prevent them from influencing the outcome of matches.
ArenaNet has already selected its first set of shoutcasters based on their community contributions and shoutcasting bona-fides. If you’d like to be considered for the role, you can post a link to your stream on the official Guild Wars 2 forums.
In other, somewhat related news, character slot expansions will be half-off 20% off (math!) from June 7th to June 9th. You can find the offer by checking in with the Black Lion Trading Company in-game. (massively)
