Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Droid I Was Looking For
Dec 29th
Isabelle Parsley admits it: She's hooked on Star Wars: The Old Republic. In today's Player Perspectives, we examine that state of hookedness and why it's such an unusual phenomenon these days. Read on!
Yep, it’s another Star Wars: The Old Republic column; you’ve been warned. I’ll also state the obvious before I get lambasted for not producing a good review: this is not a review. It is, at best, a short compendium of my initial impressions about the game, and it’s certainly not intended to tell you much about it. There are plenty of other column inches out there with reviews, including an official one coming right here next week. Besides – you shouldn’t be lambasting, you should be playing SW:TOR.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Write Us a PvP Guide, Make Some Scratch!
Dec 29th
We recently kicked off a new series of Advanced Class guides for Star Wars: The Old Republic, and we're looking to branch out a bit, so we want your help!
While the guides we are currently working on are more general PvE focused guides, we're also interested in putting together some PvP guides, and that's where you come in. Bill and I will be working on the Marauder, Sentinel, Mercenary, and Commando PvP guides, but we'd like you all to help with the rest.
Basically, we want you to put together a PvP guide or guide(s) for any of the game's Advanced Classes not mentioned above. We'll then choose the best guides as our official MMORPG.com guides for each respective class.
If the honor of having us choose your guide isn't enough, we're also throwing in some scratch: the writer of each winning guide will receive $50 for their awesome work.
Getting started is pretty simple. First, take a look at the Mercenary Guide we published today. We'd like you to use this as a template. From there, take advantage of our awesome User Features system to put together your guide. Just file it under Star Wars: The Old Republic as a Game Guide. That's it!

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Mercenary Player Guide
Dec 29th
With the amazing success of Star Wars: The Old Republic, players are often looking for direction on how to play their favorite classes. Today, MMORPG.com is pleased to present the first installment of our Mercenary Player Guide. Check it out!
Ultimately, how you play the Mercenary is completely up to you. As both a healer and a DPS class, it can really lay down the hurt and offer up plenty of support when need be. The Powertech is the more tank-appropriate class, but for players looking for a lot of versatility and the ability to step up and heal when their team needs it, there's no better Empire Class than the Mercenary.

We've put together several key first-impressions type reviews for your reading pleasure which will (hopefully) tide you over until our official and comprehensive review comes out at a later date. Read on and see if you agree.
The following is just a snapshot of what many of us staffers here at MMORPG.com are thinking of BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic so far. It’s not indicative of our final review, which will be written by Mike Bitton. Rather, it’s a way for each of us to convey to you how we feel right now about SWTOR. It seems we all agree on at least one thing: the story is the jawa’s knees. You be sure to tell us your own thoughts in the comments below!

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Maintaining that "BioWare" Experience
Dec 26th
The fourth pillar of story is alive and well in the launch product of Star Wars: The Old Republic, but will this continue with the same quality post-launch? Join us in this week's Star Wars: The Old Republic column as we offer some thoughts on the subject.
I’ve played several games with two (or more) very distinct factions, and the notion of creating unique content for both sides has never worked out. The most blatant example of this being City of Villains, which very quickly fell to the wayside when it came to creating villain specific content. BioWare has basically promised gamers two fully unique experiences when playing through the Empire and Republic sides and even this was compromised on a bit before the game even went live.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Greg Zeschuk – The Launch Interview
Dec 20th
Star Wars: The Old Republic launched officially at 12:00 a.m. EST across the globe. In New York City, the game's launch was celebrated by members of the BioWare team and not just a few Imperial Storm Troopers. We had the privilege to chat with Dr. Greg Zeschuk about SWTOR. Check out what we discovered and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.
Last night in New York we got the chance to sit down and talk with Greg Zeschuk, Co-Founder of Bioware about Star Wars: The Old Republic. The great thing about the Good Doctors, as they are known throughout the industry, is that most execs you meet cannot talk in depth about the games their company is working on. Greg and Ray are very different. They will get right in there like the top devs and discuss level design, game mechanics, PvP, and all the goodies we love to hear about. I had some big questions for Greg about Star Wars, and more importantly about MMOs in general.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Launch Day!
Dec 19th
Join us in this week's Star Wars: The Old Republic column as we discuss our experiences with the game so far and its long-awaited launch.
So far, all things considered, I’d say things have been going fairly smoothly. While Early Game Access kicked off with a lot of frustration as many pre-order customers weren’t too happy about the staggered invite system BioWare decided to go with, you’d be hard pressed to say things went poorly. Server stability has been great, server lag, at least for me, has been a complete non-issue, and the game is running just fine. Sure, the queues are long on many servers (though they have been improving), but these are just typical launch woes for a popular game. Of course, there are still some issues. Some users are experiencing technical issues stopping them from connecting or staying connected to the game, there were a number of reports of users receiving everything but their game codes in their Collector’s Edition boxes (trololol?), and even speculation that some users were exploiting their way to high-level.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: More Star Wars!
Dec 15th
As if there haven't been enough articles about Star Wars: The Old Republic on the internet this week, we've decided to add one more to the fray. From the storylines, to the Bounty Hunter and the Head Start access waves, we offer a few thoughts on each.
I know it seems like our site is in a deluge of Star Wars: The Old Republic content lately, but can you blame us? We did the same thing with DCUO, Rift, and we’ll do the same thing with every other new big launch in the future. Because that’s when the fever-pitch for a game’s info is at its highest and that’s when all of us (media and players alike) can’t get enough of whatever hot new thing is on the market. Plus, have we mentioned? It’s F**KING STAR WARS.
