Star Wars: The Old Republic: Hands On with the Novare Coast
Apr 13th
During PAX East, our team managed to get their hands on the new Star Wars: The Old Republic warzone, Novare Coast. After playing through Novare Coast, they've got some impressions to share so keep reading!
Being the obsessive person I am, I immediately noticed that there were only the default keybindings, so I took the time to bind the Naga buttons, as well as ALT + numbers and letters to each specific skill. This isn't a rant, so much as me letting my OCD get the best of me in the middle of a video game convention.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Ranked Warzones Left Out of v1.2
Apr 12th
Daniel Erickson has posted a brief not on the Star Wars: The Old Republic site that explains to players the necessity behind leaving ranked warzones out of the v1.2 patch deployed last night.
After careful consideration, it is clear that to make Ranked Warzones the feature we all want it to be is going to take a bit more time. I apologize for any disappointment this may cause and ask for your patience as we work to make sure the Ranked Warzone Preseason launch is polished and fun.
According to Erickson's post, ranked warzones will be rolled out in stages.

We recently had the opportunity to head onto the Star Wars: The Old Republic PTS to check out v1.2 which is set to hit live servers later this month. During our time in game, we learned more about the Legacy System. See what we discovered and then leave us your thoughts in the comments.
You can now decide how your characters are related, picking from any combination of siblings, spouses, adopted children, children, rivals and allies. These characters, which can come from different factions as long as they’re on the same server, will then be able to unlock emotes, abilities and other rewards to share between them. As long as one character has access to it, so will the others, regardless of their exact familial relationship.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Aesthetics vs. Gameplay
Apr 4th
Do aesthetics trump gameplay? BioWare has responded to feedback over some of the 'crazy' armorsets coming in 1.2, a topic we discussed in a recent Star Wars: The Old Republic column, and this week we're discussing the situation as it stands now.
Honestly, what more can you ask for? Of course, hindsight is awesome. Wouldn’t it have been great if BioWare figured this out before launch and gave us endgame gear that didn’t look like it came out of the Power Rangers TV series? Sure. But it didn’t play out that way. What’s important is that BioWare didn’t sit up in an ivory tower and simply give us a reason as to why they design endgame armor as they do and leave it at that.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Legacy System Detailed
Mar 29th
In a new blog post on the Star Wars: The Old Republic site, Senior Game Designer William Wallace lays out precise details on the Legacy System that is set to hit SWTOR in April. The Legacy System allows characters to create a 'family tree' and access skills that are normally unavailable to certain classes.
The Legacy System begins with a player's first character and all characters built on any given server are considered part of that original legacy. Wallace goes on to discuss Class Unlocks, Companion Unlocks, Species Unlocks, Ship Unlocks and other unlocks that will become available as players progress through the system.
