Jagex Announces Closed Beta For 8Realms

CAMBRIDGE, UK – 22nd February 2011 – Jagex Games Studio, the UK’s largest independent games developer and publisher, today announced that the closed beta for 8Realms, the new social empire-building strategy game, will launch on 5th May 2011.
In 8Realms players grow their empires from humble village to glorious dominions through eight ages of history. As players develop their settlement they will vie with others for control of precious resources, defend their interests against vicious hordes and research new technologies to ultimately reign supreme.

Dungeons & Dragons Online MMO Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

Turbine, Inc. today launched the latest content update to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons Online®: Eberron Unlimited™ (DDO Unlimited), recently named the Most Innovative MMO of the Decade*. DDO Unlimited’s newest update introduces a special two-part in-game event, new cosmetic items and a special gift for all players. DDO’s 5th Anniversary Event: To Celebrate DDOs 5th year in service, all players will be invited to travel back to the first port visited by early travelers of Stormreach – Smuggler’s Rest – and assist Euphonia in a treasure map hunt. Champions Online MMO Celebrates Successful Free-For-All Launch

Free for All, which launched on January 25, 2011, has drawn hundreds of thousands of players to the virtual world, increasing Champions Online’s online concurrent user, unique login and revenue totals by over 1,000 percent! Critical response has so far been similarly positive. We’ve received a few great re-reviews - Eurogamer even called Free for All, "…something all MMO players should feel excited about." It’s been terrific for us and we wanted to do something nice for players.

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising MMORPG Reveals Character Classes

Heatwave Interactive released a new batch of screenshots today, showing off the character types that will be available in Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising when it launches later this year. See below for a preview of the new screens and a brief overview of the character types.
Gladiator: The Gladiator’s primary function is to do massive damage at melee range while wielding two weapons, but can don a shield to occasionally hold aggro on a hostile NPC.
