The Queue: Happy Winter Veil!
Dec 25th
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.
Merry Christmas, everyone. It’s very quiet in the proverbial WoW Insider offices today. I’m the only soul around, and the only sound in the air is the clickety-clack of my keyboard. That may seem a little depressing, but it isn’t — everybody is off enjoying themselves and grabbing some much-deserved rest and relaxation. It’s a good thing.
Today’s edition of The Queue is a bit short due to the holiday, but I’m sure you’ll all forgive me, right?
Resurect asked:
With the events of the dragon soul, its safe to say that lorewise caverns of time is just a lair of bronze dragons now ? This means we will never see another time traveling dungeon again ? Also Nozdurmu will now just grow old to be a nice guy without the risk of go “infinite” crazy ?

Around Azeroth: Little boxes on the hillside
Dec 25th
Anyone else remember the Arrested Development episode where Tobias dresses up as a giant mole and attacks a fake town? Of course you do. If everyone on the internet who loves Arrested Development watched it when it was on, the damn thing would have never been cancelled. And now the same thing is happening with Community! When will we learn from history?
Anyway. Tangent over. “After sneaking in to the tonk battle arena, I decided to put the ’wrath’ back into Dragonwrath and terrorize the town,” writes submitter Dark Dragon. “Once the Darkmoon Faire called their security, the guards mistook me for the real thing, and now they’re looking to put me in their zoo enclosure.”

Dec 25th
OK, apologies. I am aware that this is the most overused, overdone and overegg(nog)ed Christmas song ever; however, it’s kind of relevant. If you could pick any one existing thing in-game to get for Christmas, what would it be?
Maybe it’d be a mount such as the Vial of the Sands or Deathcharger’s Reins. Perhaps one that involves a bit of a grind that you don’t really feel like doing and would rather Greatfather Winter sort out for you, like the Cenarion War Hippogryph, or one that involves a bit of luck, like the Reins of the Raven Lord? A fellow guild member ran Sethekk Halls more than 150 times over a period of two years plus and finally got his a few months ago. Or perhaps you have another idea of the mount that you love the best in the game?
Perhaps you’re one for companion pets. Are you hoping your subtle hints about Pandaren Monks and Guardian Cubs will have paid off? Or are you hoping for something from a trading card code? Is buying loot with real-life money cheating, and you want something that has to be found in-game? Perhaps one of the archaeology drops, such as the Crawling More >
The Care and Feeding of Warriors: Leveling from 61 to 80
Dec 24th
Every week, WoW Insider brings you The Care and Feeding of Warriors, the column dedicated to arms, fury and protection warriors. Despite repeated blows to the head from dragons, demons, Old Gods and whatever that thing over there was, Matthew Rossi will be your host.
Leveling in Northrend was made easier with patch 4.3’s reducing the experience necessary by 33%. In addition, many quests in Outland and Northrend were retuned from group quests to soloable, and the major quest givers for instance quests were moved inside the instances in most cases so that players using Dungeon Finder to level through them could turn them in more easily.
These changes make leveling through the oldest content in the game (with the Cataclysm revamps, Outland and Northrend are in fact older content than the 1-to-60 game) easier than it has ever been. That makes now the perfect time to talk about how to level through these 19 levels and get ready for the 80-to-85 content. Since we talked about 1 to 60 two weeks ago, we’ll follow much the same format.

Totem Talk: Leveling a shaman in the Cataclysm era
Dec 24th
Every week, WoW Insider brings you Totem Talk for elemental, enhancement and restoration shaman. This week, Josh Myers, the dean of DPS shaman, and Joe Perez, the Robespierre of restoration, do a Dragonball-Z style fusion dance and combine their class knowledge to bring you a concise shaman leveling guide.
So, young padawan, you want to play a shaman. You’re following in the footsteps of some of the greatest characters in World of Warcraft lore — Nobundo Farseer, Thrall, and yours truly. Just know that you have the full support of myself and Mr. Joe Perez, and we’ll only judge you a very small amount for not choosing shaman sooner.
The shaman class has three distinct specs that each fulfill very different roles. Enhancement, which we’ll talk about first, is a melee DPS class, which means standing very close to bosses and whacking them repeatedly with blades or maces imbued with flame and wind. Elemental is a ranged caster DPS class, preferring to stand at a safe distance while hurling balls of lava and electrocuting enemies. Restoration, the last spec we’ll talk about, is a healing spec, revitalizing friends by creating super-soothing puddles for them to stand in. Seriously.

5 Eastern Kingdoms getaways for vacationing roleplayers
Dec 24th
All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players. In World of Warcraft, that player is you! Each week, Anne Stickney brings you All the World’s a Stage with helpful hints, tips and tricks on the art of roleplay in WoW.
The Eastern Kingdoms is rife with conflict, whether it’s the battles in Gilneas, the uprising of the trolls in Zul’Aman and Zul’Gurub, or the plague-ridden shores of what used to be Southshore. Much like Kalimdor, the shattered lands are riddled with the continued brawling between Alliance and Horde. But you can still find a few spots here and there to get away from it all — the dwarves of Dun Morogh have the right idea about it, like the one pictured above. Sometimes, you want to forget about the battles and just take a day off and go sledding.
Kalimdor may be riddled with conflict, but there are still some beautiful places for characters to get away and take a vacation, as we saw last week. Quiet locations in the Eastern Kingdoms may be a little harder to find, but there are still quite a few places where a character can take a welcome breather from the endless More >

The Best of WoW Insider: May 2011

Does WoW ever creep you out? NoYou Read trade for more than 20 seconds and you can make a strong case against evolution. CloakedDrifter The Goldshire inn on Moon Guard. *shudder* MattKrotzer It creeps me out that one of the quest writers has such a fascination with poop, and making us sift through it.
This was a news-heavy month due to patch 4.1’s dropping in late April and the quick arrival of patch 4.2 on the Public Test Realm. However, it was also a vibrant month for the arts scene, and WoW Archivist was en fuego in May. Did you know that Molten Core shipped with a third legendary? Don’t lie.

The Queue: Morshed Khan the sitar player
Dec 24th
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host for today.
Morshed Khan is an amazing sitar player. Also, he totally owns a restaurant that I eat at way too much.
slim1256 asked:
Do you think Blizz would consider not giving the role bonus to players rolling on a token for an item they already have equipped?
I ask, because – it doesn’t seem that far outside the bounds of likelihood that you could go in there for weeks on end, and win nothing (especially if you’re on a popular token – I’m looking at you, DK/Druid/Mage/Rogue token!). It’s inordinately frustrating to run through both wings of the raid and get nothing, especially over multiple weeks – this is the voice of experience here.
I can see the potential for problems with that (e.g., people might be less likely to join an LFR if they feel like they can’t win OS tokens…), but I’m curious to hear what others think?

Around Azeroth: Skulking around the Christmas tree
Dec 24th
Naeem of Sporebat on Bloodscalp (US-H) furtively attempts to decorate his Winter Veil tree while his felhunter stands guard against any encroaching Alliance. Admittedly, at level 34, Naeem doesn’t have much of a chance against any opponents, but perhaps the holiday season will lead to a sudden display of basic human decency and no one will gank him. Heh. A ceasefire on a PvP server? That would truly be a Christmas miracle.
